students also asked their difficulties & got proper an-

swers from Rtn. Datta Deshpande.

At the end, Rtn. Hemant Atre explained the importance

of such lectures. He urged students to take various ex-

periences during their education phase, be it in aca-

demics, internship, sports, arts or social work. He urged

them to leverage the Rotaract platform to do so.

Rtr. Wani summarized Datta Deshpande’s speech ,

Hemant Atre’s speech & proposed a vote of thanks.

From MCoE Rotaract a nice present was given to Datta

as a token of appreciation and then the meeting was

adjourned.

The lecture on Entrepreneurship Development was ar-

ranged in Rotaract Club. Rtn. Datta Deshpande, ( RCPM )

of Pratham Technologies delivered this lecture. It was

attended in large numbers by Rotaract BoD, Rotaractors

& other students. Around 80 students attended the func-

tion. Rotaract Secretary welcomed all & introduced in

the Guest Speaker. Rtn. Datta Deshpande explained in

brief the need for entrepreneurship. He said that be-

cause the jobs are becoming scares & there is tremen-

dous opportunity in manufacturing & service sectors one

should think of becoming an entrepreneur. Rather than

being informative & general he told his own story, how

he became entrepreneur& developed his Pratham Tech-

nologies which is the leading company in packaging in-

dustry in India & ranked 3rd in the world. Datta thought

of starting his own business when he was in 8th standard.

He got inspired by the industries which he saw of in-laws

of his both the elder sisters. After completing his engi-

neering degree, he sensed an opportunity to become a

supplier of Bajaj Auto, a leading company at that time.

He partnered with a person then to develop a product.

Later he formed Pratham Technologies with the same

person & both are together till now. He narrated a deci-

sive point to take his company globally. In 2004 they de-

cided to participate in a world class trade fair in Germa-

ny. He realized that a solid foundation of systems & pro-

cesses is necessary to sustain & thrive at global level. To-

day the efforts have paid. From the highest level, owners

of the company, to the lowest level, helpers & cleaners,

all sing the same tune of quality in doing everything that

everyone does. The solid foundation of quality has

helped build their brand. Datta told many incidences in

his real life. His language was lucid. He made it inter-

esting. Through this students understood various aspects

of entrepreneurship like passion backed by solid efforts,

can-do attitude, taking calculated risk & inculcating high-

est quality aspect in every person & process. At last a few

Noon Snacks

Hello friends I am sharing

with you veg and non veg

recipe of momos which I pre-

pared last week. It is not

very complicated, liked by all

children these days and yet

healthy because momos are

steamed. You can give it a

try, children (even we) would

love them.

INGREDIENTS

FOR DOUGH:

1½ cup maida

Salt to taste & 1 tsp oil

FOR VEG. STUFFING:

3 tsp oil

3 clove garlic, finely chopped

1 inch ginger, finely chopped

2 chilli, finely chopped

4 tbsp spring onion

1 cup carrot, grated

2 cup cabbage, shredded

½ tsp pepper, crushed Salt to taste

Method : Firstly, prepare stuffing by heating 3 tsp oil and saute garlic, ginger and chilli. Now add 2 tbsp spring onion and saute on high flame.Further, add 1 cup carrot and 2 cup cabbage. Stir fry on high flame. Now add ½ tsp pepper and salt to taste. Now add remaining spring onion stir. Your stuffing is ready. Now the cover – take a lemon sized dough dust with some maida and roll to a puree size. Now place one tbsp of prepared stuffing in the centre. Start pleating the edg-es slowly and gather everything. You can either fold and make it like karanji or modak also. Either way, seal the edges. Heat a steamer and arrange the momos in a plate without touching each other and steam for about 10 to 12 mins. Serve them with tomato chutney or tomato ketchup. Instead of steaming, you may deep fry in oil too. Some love them fried. Non veg stuffing :

Mix all ingredients given above to make a stuffing.

Ladies Corner : Recipes

1 cup chicken (minced) 1/2 cup onions, finely chopped (spring onions also will do) 1/4 tsp black pepper powder 1 tbsp oil 1 tsp garlic finely chopped 1/2 tsp soya sauce Salt 1/4 tsp vinegar or lime juice

Make Pineapple Upside-Down Cake- By Anagha Gokhale NGREDIENTS

4 tablespoons unsalted butter 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar 1 (8-ounce) can pineapple rings in pineapple juice 8 to 10 maraschino cherries ( del-monte tinned cherries ) 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup granulated sugar, 2 Large eggs 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, at room temperature

Heat the oven & prepare the pan. Arrange a rack in the mid-dle of the oven and heat to 350°F. Coat a 9-inch round cake pan with melted butter ; set aside.

Melt the butter & sugar for the topping. Melt the butter & sugar in a small frying pan over medium heat, stirring fre-quently. The mixture is done when the sugar is bubbly and slightly more brown. Pour the sugar mixture into the baking pan. Pour the sugar mixture into a prepared cake pan and spread into an even layer to cool slightly. Arrange the pine-apple slices and cherries in the cake pan. Remove the pine-apple rings from the can and reserve 1/2 cup of the juice. Set a single ring in the Centre of the pan, then arrange 6 to 7 rings around the Center ring. Place a maraschino cherry in the centre of each ring and set the pan aside. Whisk togeth-er the dry cake ingredients. Whisk the flour, baking powder, & salt together in a medium bowl; set aside.

Cream the sugar & butter together with a hand mixer, add eggs. Place the sugar & butter in a large bowl. Using an elec-tric hand mixer, beat on medium speed until lightened & creamy, about 5 minutes. Add eggs & beat until smooth, about 1 minute. Add the flour mixture & pineapple juice in alternating batches. With the mixer on low speed, add the flour mixture in 3 batches, alternating with the reserved 1/2 cup pineapple juice, in this order: Add 1/3 of the flour mix-ture and mix until incorporated, about 30 seconds. Add 1/2 of the pineapple juice, mixing until smooth, about 30 se-conds. Add another 1/2 of the remaining flour and mix again for about 30 seconds, followed by the remaining pine-apple juice and 30 seconds of mixing. Finally, add the re-maining flour mixture & mix until completely smooth, about 1 minute total. Spread the batter over the fruit. The batter will be thick, so use a large spoon to dollop large spoonful of the batter evenly over the fruit in the pan. Smooth the batter with a spatula, then tap the cake pan lightly on the counter to settle the batter. Bake the cake for 45 minutes. Bake the cake until dark golden-brown & a cake tester comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Cool the cake for 10 minutes and then invert the cake onto a serving plate. Remove the warm cake from the oven to a cooling rack & cool for 10 minutes (do not wait longer or the cake will not come out of the pan). Invert a plate over cake pan & using kitchen towels or oven mitts to grasp onto both the plate & the cake pan, flip both the pan & the plate over so the pan now sits on top of the plate. Slowly lift the cake pan away. Serve the cake warm or cool before serving . —Ann Anagha Gokhale
