Our staff implemented the emergency procedures which went very smoothly and without incident. I am very proud of all our students who remained calm and sensible throughout the drill. Both students and staff will now provide feedback to help improve our procedures so we are as prepared as possible in case of a real emergency. This is also a great time for all our families in the community to look at their bushfire plans so that you are also well prepared. Information is available from the Rural Fire Service website to assist you with planning (see Plan and Prepare’). https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/ . Can I also recommend you install and use the Fires near Meapp on your smart phone.

BCAB aka Building Connections at Anna Bay

Anna Bay is a great community and we want to ensure that every person at Anna Bay PS has a connection with people other than just their own classmates and teachers. BCAB has only just been introduced and the children and teachers already love it. Last Friday the whole school moved into what we call ‘vertical groupings’ (K-6 in every classroom). The children played games and worked on activities that required the children to work together to build relationships, connections and self-esteem. Your child possibly had a different teacher with many children that they did not know. This is exactly what we want so that they meet and engage with different children and adults at Anna Bay PS … making connections.
