you to Mr McCarthy and Mrs Blogg for organising and running this great event. Students who did well at this carnival will be invited to join the Little Grove Interschool swim team. The interschool carnival will be held at ALAC on Thursday 3 April 2014. P&C Last week the P&C tried to hold its annual AGM. Unfortunately this could not take place due to lack of people present (10 needed for a quorum). The AGM has been rescheduled for Tuesday 18 March 7pm. Parents we need you to attend the meetings and volunteer for positions such as President, Treasurer, Secretary etc. Without the P&C the school will have no canteen, uniform shop, discos and fundraising. In addition, the Program delivers observable social benefits to all students, including those with special needs. We are hosting the introductory training at our school on Monday 31 March to train our staff and staff from schools around the Great Southern. Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation

Exciting news! We have been invited to join the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation which aligns with our focus area of a Sustainable Learning Environment and the work already done in this area coordi-nated by Mrs Sharon Dawson.

The Program emphasises the flavours as well as the health benefits of fresh, seasonal food. PROPOSED INDUSTRIAL ACTION BY UNIONS ON TUESDAY 1 APRIL 2014

You may be aware that the State School Teachers’ Union, CPSU/CSA and United Voice have announced “a community day of action” on Tuesday 1 April 2014.

They indicate that this action is being taken in response to this year’s State Budget for public schools and to ensure further funding reductions are not made in next year’s State Budget. The Government has made it clear that it has no intention of changing the Budget.

If this day goes ahead, it will be the second time in the last six months. The Department does not endorse any form of industrial action and all public sector staff have a responsibility to implement and work within any decisions taken by the government of the day.

As we get closer to this date, the school will keep you informed about any implications for your child(ren).
