Student Drop-Off & Pick Up Safety: Arrival and dismissal is a very busy time. We appreciate your patience and flexibility in getting each and every student to school in a safe manner. When dropping your child off in the morning, please remember the doors do not open until 8:15. If you drop your child off before the doors open, they will not be supervised. If your child arrives after 8:25, they need to go to the office for a late pass. To ensure the safety of children arriving and dismissing from school, Phillips Street will be blocked and turned into a one way. Please be sure to follow the map that was given out at registration. If your child is a car rider, please get in the car rider line that begins on Park Street and turns onto Phillips Street. For the safety of students, please do not park on the street and walk to get your child. Bike Safety: If your child rides a bike to school they need to walk their bike across the tracks and continue walking their bike all the way to the bike racks. Please remember no riding bikes, scooters or skateboards on school property.
PBIS
Our school improvement committees met over the summer on ways to ensure a safe and caring environment. We are implementing PBIS this school year. PBIS is a way for schools to encourage good behavior. It focuses on proactive strategies for defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behaviors to create positive school environments.

The B ig 3
C l i ck here to see this v ideo on the B ig 3 ! What is a Phase?
We’ve all said it: “It’s just a phase,” Meaning that your child will get through whatever irritating moment in time he or she happens to be in right now.
But what if we flip that? What if instead of eagerly awaiting the moment when your child will grow out of it, we embrace each Phase as a moment of time that we will never have again? What if a Phase outcome: A time frame in a kid’s life when you can leverage that moment to influence their future.
If you’re a planner, you may be concentrating on the future - a phase your child will be in sometime in the future.
If you are nostalgic, you may be focused on what your child used to be like. But instead, let’s focus on how we can use this year, these next 10 months, to influence our kids for the best possible outcome.
So don’t miss it, it’s just a phase!
