Welcome

What a busy month we have had! Thank you to all of you who have come to our events and supported our celebration of carers for ‘Carers Week 2018’. #WhyWeCare.

We started the month with a Family Fun Day on a cold and blustery day at Freemans Landing. Thanks to Maria and Janie for pounding the pavement and acquiring such large stash of prizes that we gave away on the day. We hope people who won prizes have been enjoying their windfall. Richard was also generous in sharing his story and I was struck by his clarity that he is a ‘parent’ not a ‘carer’. Indicating that the word ‘carer’ can be taken over by bureaucracy and diminishes the freely given relationships within families between parents and children; brothers and sisters; husbands and wives.
