Autism is a way of thinking differently. People with Autism can have difficulties with expressing themselves and understanding the world around them due to their sensory and processing needs. WHAT IS AUTISM MONTH? Nearly a quarter century ago, the Autism Society launched an effort to promote autism awareness, inclusion and self-determination for all, and assure that each person on the Autism spectrum is provided the opportunity to achieve the highest possible quality of life. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO US AS A LEARNING COMMUNITY? Our aim is to go beyond simply promoting autism awareness. We hope to support our families and community as we strengthen our appreciation of diversity in our community.

News from the Principal WHAT IS AUTISM? Autism is a way of thinking differently. People with Autism can have difficulties with expressing themselves and understanding the world around them due to their sensory and processing needs.

Join us in celebration for International Autism Awareness Month. We will “Go Blue” for Autism with a mufti-day on Friday, 8th April and engage in a whole school challenge with in-class activities.

Other News SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY FRIDAY, 1ST APRIL This Friday all students will be participating in our School Cross Country event. Please sign the attached permission note and return it to your class teacher as soon as possible. To avoid the heat of the day, we will be starting at 9:15am. The oldest students will be the first to run, followed by other age groups as shown below.

1. 12 to 13 year olds 2. 11 year olds 3. 10 year olds 4. 8 and 9 year olds 5. 7 year olds 6. 5 and 6 year olds

Students will need to have sun protection and bring a water bottle with them. Mr Podbury

Canteen and P & C News UNIFORMS Our new stock of school uniforms has arrived and unfortunately the cost of uniforms has gone up. We are currently working out the new prices and will notify you in next week’s newsletter about the changes which will take effect in Term 2.

TREASURER AND COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED If you are able to donate some time to help the P&C and our school, please contact the school or let the ladies at the canteen know. Your assistance would be greatly welcomed. P&C EASTER RAFFLE 2016 We would like to thank everyone who bought tickets in our raffle and donated towards the prizes.
