MUSIC COUTURE! Our favourite designer, Raf Simons, made headlines again this week after dropping his latest SS19 collection. He has often referenced music and subculture within his work and his latest collection is no stranger with references to punk and new wave. Raf used Duchesse satin and sparkly knitwear to create a new tailored look but it was clear to see the London Punk scene of the 70s heavily influencing his t-shirts, bags and scarves.

TAKING IT TO THE STREETS This really has been the year where we have seen the influence of streetwear, subculture and music take over luxury fashion houses like Gucci, Burberry, Rubchinskiy and Vetements. Hip Hop legend Kanye West has been one of the most influential and talked about ‘fashion designers’ in the world. It seems that fashion is at its most creative when designers take it back to the streets and music scenes where self-expression, liberation and creativity are dominant – from Punk to Rave to Hip Hop, ‘Dressing down’ has become the new ‘dressing up’!

FOO FIGHTERS WIN KERRANG AWARDS! Scooping both the Best International Live Act gong and Best International Band, the Foo Fighters were the band of the night at this week’s prestigious Kerrang! Awards which was presented by the one and only Alice Cooper! Following their astronomical success of last year’s album release ‘Concrete and Gold’, The Foo Fighters are currently on tour next heading to the sold out London Stadium for 2 nights then across to Canada and the USA where they will play another 30 dates until October.
So, in the words of Dave Grohl ‘Keep rockin and rollin’ man’… indeed we will Dave, indeed we will!
