New NSF Future of Work Program q A New NSF program launched earlier in 2018: “Future of Work at the
Human - Technology Frontier: Advancing Cognitive and Physical Capabilities (FW-HTF)”, https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2018/nsf18548/nsf18548.pdf
q $27,000 Million total, funding sizes $750k~ $3m, 3~5 yearsq PI can be research or teaching faculty associated with a university or
community college, or staff from non-profits.q LOI submission was April 16, full proposal due: June 4, 2018.q ISSIP submitted a letter of Intent (LOI) - “Empowering the Workforce with
Augmented Intelligence (AI)”, proposed research would develop new models and methods of service systems for high value-adding services such as health care and health care insurance, education, consulting, government services, financial services, engineering, etc.

and Intelligence Augmentation in defining the future of work” – a few speakers already committed from Cisco, IBM, Google.
• Research mini-track “SMART SERVICE SYSTEMS: ANALYTICS, COGNITION AND INNOVATION”, Co-chairs: Haluk Demirkan, Jim Spohrer, Ralph Badinelli
qISSIP will continue its sponsorship of HICSS for 2019
