21 st Nov, 2017 Vikram Sarabhai Space Exhibition (VSSE) celebrated 21 st November as the “ISRO-Rocket Day”, to commemorate the 54 th anniversary of the launch of first sounding rocket from Indian soil (TERLS). The event was inaugurated at SRC grounds by Director, SAC in presence of Chief Guest, Dr. V Narayanan, Associate Director & Project Director, C25 Cryogenic Project, LPSC-V. During the event, a series of Candy & Water Rockets were launched on the spot. The highlight of the celebrations was a talk on the “Launch Vehicle Development in ISRO-Past, Present & Future” by Dr. V Narayanan. Other events include a competition on Satellite Paper Model making. The competition was open for all SAC/DECU employees including Research Fellows & Contract staff. About 90 staff members have taken part in paper model making competition. About 1700 students of various schools have actively participated & witnessed the launches of Rockets during the day marking the grand success of the event.
