New Delhi, April 6 (IANS) Three Israeli diplomats were bookedfor slapping and thrashing an immigration official at the IndiraGandhi International (IGI) airport here, police said Sunday.

A case under section 186 (obstructing public servant indischarge of public functions) and 332 (voluntarily causing hurtto deter public servant from his duty) of the Indian Penal Codewas registered against the three Israeli diplomats, who enjoydiplomatic immunity, said a senior police officer.

Police said immigration official Somveer was Saturdaymanhandled by the three young diplomats, who were on theirway to Kathmandu, after they got angry over a delay inimmigration formalities.

One of the diplomat also slapped Somveer and the entireincident was recorded on CCTV cameras installed on thepremises.

Deputy Commissioner of Police I.M. Haider told IANS that theIsraeli Embassy has been informed about the case.
