THE President of the Congress ofthe People (COPE), Mosiuoa (Ter-ror) Lekota, blamed Police investi-gators for failing to do their jobsproperly at the burial of Luto Qu-
dalele (19) in the Drayini location in Dutywa.
According to him, police officials had failedto keep important evidence in the case.Lekota said evidence, including chains and
scarves thatwere used to handcuff Luto, werebrought by the funeral parlour to be put withher in the grave.“What I have seen is a disgrace. This shows
that there are police who don’t know their du-ties at all. They forget that they are being paidin order to protect the society. I amgoing backto parliament and will tell other members ofthe parliament what I have seen here,” saidLekota. He said he would also write a letter to the
Minister of Police,NathiNhleko, to report thematter.Lekota was among the politicians and
church members who came to pay their lastrespects to Luto who went missing on August9 (onWomen’sDay). Her bodywas found float-ing in the river of Ackland two weeks afterher disappearance. Her mouth was gaggedwitha scarf andher legswerehandcuffed. She
was raped before being stabbed to death. Her uncle, Simlindile Klaas, could not hold
back his tears when he was talking about Lu-to. He said Luto was a clever girl who did notdeserve to die like this.“When we received a phone call to tell us
that she had gone missing, we did not thinkthat she was dead. We thought she was stillaround the area. The perpetrator owes thefamily an explanation as to why he did to herwhat he did,” he said.Klaas said even though it was painful hav-
ing lost his niece, he takes comfort in know-ing that God was present when the incidenttook place. The youth from Drayini said an incident
like this would never happen again in theirarea. They said they would make sure thatthey sweep away crime. They said theywouldnot involve the police, but that they wouldkeep the area free of crime themselves. They sang songs waving posters with mes-
sages like, “Where is our Luto?” Their angerwas evident by the songs they sang about theman who is suspected of kidnapping and kill-ing Lutho. When asked by SABC news why the police
had failed to hang onto the evidence, policespokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha saidhe was unable to respond, since he was notat the funeral. He asked to be given a chanceto investigate the matter.

THE Mthatha High Court was filled to capacity lastFriday to hear the argument against PresidentJacob Zuma’s attempt at having the King ofAbaThembu, Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo, dethroned.
Dalindyebo’s legal team, led by Advocate DaliMpofu, argued that the President should reverse hisdecision of trying to remove the King from histhrone and that the President should also pay thelegal costs. This comes after President Jacob Zuma wrote a
letter to theKing, askinghim to provewhyhe shouldnot be removed from his throne. According to theletter, the King had 30 days to respond. The King re-spondedby challenging thematter in court, demand-ing that President Zuma should reverse his actionand publicly apologise. The King’s legal representative, Adv. Dali Mpofu,
argued that President Zumahadno power to removethe King and lashed out at those who claimed to bemembers of the Royal family wanting the King tobe removed.“They don’t even know who they are,” said Adv.
Mpofu. This utterance had those present in court,in stitches.Adv.Mpofu said thePresident shouldnotdeal with this matter, until it could be proved thatthose people were not real members of the Royalfamily. He described the accusations against the King as
defamation of character and malicious damage. With regard to the allegation that theKing assaultedhis late mother Nomoscow, Adv. Mpofu said thecourt should stop this to avoid uprising and vio-lence.A representative of the President, Nceba Dukada,
said the President was not on a mission to dethronethe King, but that instead he (Zuma) was just a spec-tator in a dispute between the two groups of the Roy-al family.Thanduxolo Mtirara, chairperson of the group
that wants the King to be ousted, was representedby Phillip Zilwa.Judge Justin Laing presided and reserved judge-
ment for a further date.Members of theDemocraticAlliance, the Econom-
icFreedomFighters (EFF) and theUnitedDemocrat-ic Movement and its leadership were also in courtduring the proceedings.Kaizer Mathanzima’s great granddaughter was
seated next to the King. The King was in a visibly goodmood after the pro-
ceedings.

PAINwaswritten on the faces of familymem-bers at last week’s burial of a man who hadspent three months in the mortuary due to alack of funds to release the body.
Wantu-Wantu Ndleleni (52) was buried af-ter the Chief and the community had inter-vened by asking for assistance from the Afri-canNational Congress ConstituencyOffice inElliotdale.
Ndleleni was found dead at the beginningof June in the area where he was working asa shepherd.
His funeral was supposed to have beenon June 28. A cousin had promised to havehim buried, but this was before he hadlearnt that Nledleni’s funeral policy hadlapsed.Express was told that all the preparations
for the funeral had beenmade for June 28, butthat the corpse never arrived.
After hearing that there was a problem inthe mortuary the mourners ate the food thatwas already cooked for the day and left thehomestead.
The sister of the deceased, NosebenzileNdleleni, said since then her brother’s corpsewas in the mortuary, because she had no
means to bury him.“I was then approached by Chief Nolizwe
Gangathile and by community memberswho wanted to know what was happeningabout the funeral.
“I told them that my brother was still inthe mortuary, because there was no one topay the costs.
“They then approached the office of MEC,Mlibo Qhoboshiyane (ANCConstituency Of-fice in Elliotdale),” she said.
Nomvuzo Tayi from the Constituency Of-fice managed to negotiate with Avbob.
Tayi said it was not easy when she re-ceived the request, but that she had told her-
self that shewoulddoanything to solve themat-ter.
“I asked help fromAvbob. I could not believemy ears whenAvbob promised to help by bury-ing the deceased,” said Tayi.
Peter Ntleki from Avbob said their intentionis to plough back into the community.
“That iswhywe’ve decided to assist the fami-ly, because we realized that they were in painsince their familymemberhadbeen in themor-tuary for almost three months.
“We are appealing to the community to en-sure that they approach us when there is aproblem, because we are running our businesson their support,” said Ntleki.

YOU know what; it’s strange to see adultsfighting on the street because they know uku-thi they have to finish their fight in their bed-room, rather than show the public their dif-ferences on the street.
But ke people are saying it is a daily prac-tice in many kasis zaseMzansi. We were watching a couple fighting on the
street of Slovo Park, eUTA.Abasebedala ke. Ngokokuva kokuthetha
KULE NGXABANO YABO, the guy was de-manding the woman to go with him to hisroom and sleep over whilst the woman wasagainst the idea.Yeka ke ukujijisana kude kuyiwe phantsi
because the lady didn’t want to do what theguy was demanding.Buka nje to show your beautiful thighs on
the street in front of children was not on.And ke abantwana bona bebengasekho in-
terested in fighting but they were watchingthe exposed parts of a woman’s body.Butie, respect your woman if she was
againstwhat you suggested therewas noneedfor you to force her.How was she going to enjoy what you are
looking for if you forced her from the onset?Come on broe, akwenziwa njalo iyakubambi-sa daai ding.
Be careful!!
Ladies and gentlemen on the Express landyou must know things which can talk aboutin public and those you converse with yourfriends. Don’t talk about your matters withyour partner in bed.We do understand sometimes people are
overpowered by excitement on bed after along battle proposing love to that particularpartner and eventually he gets what he want-ed most.Mmm, I wonder what is a story. Come clos-
er here is a story. There is a guy who was always boasting
about the hotness of his new girlfriend andher performance in bed.

Vodka in a car with my buddies when hejust blasted and revealed how this new girl-friend treated him the previous night thatis why he was so exhausted.Mmm, uGesh wabamba umzimba. You
know what? Now the guy has lost the girland she is involved with another guy whowas present during his bomb in the car.Uyabona ke, once you talk about your se-
crets in bed with your girlfriend everyonewants to go and test that paradise you weretalking about.Nangoku umfethu

THE Thembu Royals were crowned the 2014Mthatha champs at the Rotary stadium inMthatha this past Sunday, following theirhard-earned victory over Mthatha Bucs.
Bucs’ defence that took no prisoners at theback almost cost them in the early minutesof the game.Bucs gave away a free kick too close to the
box as they couldn’t handle the Thembu’sgoal-hungry strikers. And a few minutes af-ter that they again conceded an early goalwhich was ruled out as being offside by thematch official. The game ended in a goalless draw and
since it was the final, a decider was neededand they went on penalties.Confident Bucs’ were the first that took
the first penalty but their confidence wascalmed down after they missed.Thembu’s goalkeeper slaughtered in the
first goal for his team and saved three moreand consequently put his side ahead. Mt-hatha Bucs’ nerves grew as they missedmore.Royals’ captain sealed his team’s win by
a marvellous strike that left the Bucs’ goal-keeper shocked and the arena roaring withjoy. Bucs’ didn’t go home empty handed, asthey were consoled with Build It sportingbags, balls, soccer kit and miniature tro-phies.Build It representative, Walter Chakufu-
na, along with the SAFA LFA chairperson,SandileNowalaza, of theKSD, congratulatedthe victors, and said they guaranteed thatnext year’s tournament would be bigger andbetter.

The tournament is an annual event spon-sored by Build It in association with SAFA’sLocal Football Association (LFA) acrossSouth Africa. Before the kick off, spectators were kept on
the edges of the grandstand seats by the flam-
boyant parade of the Zimele Drummies asthey walked the players to the pitch.Despite the Royals’ sloppy defence, they
managed to hang on till the penalty shootoutwhen they defeated Mthatha Bucs by 2-1 onpenalties.
Thembu Royals’coach, ThandoMaseti confirmedthat his teamwas notready for the game asthey didn’t haveenough time to pre-pare afterhaving losttheir director.“I am surprised
myself that the boysmanaged to go thisfar. Really, we werenot fit for suchgames, but the boyshave proven thatthey have the fight-ing spirit regardlessof the physical fit-ness,” said the coach. Both the teams
were hungry forgoals as they at-tacked constantlybut failed to converttheir chances togoals.
