BHAKTI SASTRI COURSE

We are very happy to announce thelaunch of an official Bhakti Sastri coursein September 2008.

The course details are:

Term time: Wednesday 17th September2008 to November 2009

Course facilitator: HG Jivadoya dasa

Course content: Bhagavad-Gita, SriIsopanisad, Nectar of Devotion & Nectarof Instruction

Course fee: 250

The course will be taught everyWednesday from 6.00pm to 9.00pm inthe new seminar room.

We will be supplying course hand outseach week and we will also provideprasadam after each session.

London to Their sick bay andgiven lots of medicines inorder to get better in timefor Ratha Yatra.

cally noticed was that devo-tees, including from the con-gregation, are going to theroom were He (Lord Jagannatha) is and sittingoutside either offeringprayers or chanting their japa, and its been veryinspiring to see that,because its not often that

you see devotees manifestlove and devotion in thatway. Because my mentalitymay be who are you think-ing I am better. So to actual-

ly see the manifestation oftheir love and devotion bythe fact that they havetaken the trouble to go were

they are and sit outside thedoor and chant japa is veryinspiring.

Also I am encouragingeveryone to send cards tothe Deities, thats also veryinspiring. Because when yousee what is written on thecards its actually very very

uplifting, and people arewriting more from the heart,which is something that Iam happy to see

On the 22nd June it wasRatha Yatra when TheirLordships are seen onceagain after 2 weeks of conva-lescing. The procession start-ed at Hyde Park and ended atTrafalgar Square where Their

Lordships were giving dar-shan on Their chariots.

This month saw the start of bramacari trainingand education for all Temple residents. Theclasses take place 3 days a week for 1 and ahalf hours a day. The devotees are currentlystudying an overview of the SrimadBhagavatam.

BRAMACARI TRAINING

OUT AND ABOUT WITH THE TEMPLEPRESIDENT

During the month of June, Jai Nitai dasa carried out the following engagements:

On the 5th June, facilitated a university programme at the Temple with special guest,HH Devamrita Swami.

On the 6th June, gave an evening class at the home of the Dattani family.There were 30 devotees in attendance.

On the 15th June, gave the Sunday Feast talk at ISKCON London entitled KrsnaConsciousness the journey of self discovery.

On the 16th June, attended a house programme at Patron member Vivek Mehtas homewith Sanatana Goswami dasa.

On the 20th June, gave a talk at the Pandava Sena East London Jammin.

On the 21st June, visited the home of Ram Charan dasa (Temple Finance Controller)with Radha Londonishvara dasa for prasadam and sanga.

On the 23rd June, left for a 3 week break to visit family in the USA.

NIRJALA EKADASI

On Saturday 14th June it was Nirjala Ekadasi - the day of total fast from water and food.

We celebrated this holy day with 24 hour bhajans in the Temple room organised by HGRadha Londonishvara dasa.

On the 16th June we said goodbye (temporarily we hope!) to Bhakta Arjuna and BhaktaNiket. They were staying in the Temple for several weeks to learn about ashram life andpreaching in the city.

For the month of June, we distributed over 1,260 plates of prasadam.FOOD FOR LIFE

We continue to have daily harinams every day led by HG Krsna Vidhi dasa. These hari-nams go out at 3.30pm from the top of Soho Street please join us if you can.

news CORPORATE PREACHING

On the 6th June, Jai Nitai dasa gave a talk at Accenture in Central London. There wereapproximately 45 office employees in attendance and several more via conference call.The talk was very successful and as a result Jai Nitai dasa has been invited back to giveregular Bhagavad-Gita talks at Accenture.

Feedback we received from an attendee of the talk:

Dear Jai,

It was such a pleasure listening to your lecture at Accenture.Apart from writing plenty of notes, immediately after the lecture I was asked to illus-trate your concepts by a couple of colleagues of mine who could not attend because ofa previous engagement. So now I have memorized them quite well.

It was excellent food for thought and a great way to end my working week.

Please keep me informed about the yoga courses that will start in September at the

temple.

Hope to meet you soon in one of my visits to Govinda restaurant.
