Well as a young child I’m sure most of us dream of becoming rich and famous but we never see it becoming a reality, for me that’s what I thought, I thought id just grow up like any normal person would get a decent job and live a normal life.
When I first started secondary school I didn’t have many friends and I wasn’t the best looking teenager so I thought a good way to get more popular and maybe get some more friends was to sign up for the school talent show, as I didn’t really have any talents my only choice was to sing and I ended up winning the
whole contest and because everyone’s acts were recorded and put up on YouTube my video began to get more and more views and by the time a week had passed and I had over 10 million views. This helped me get noticed by recording companies and by the time id finished school Def Jam had seen my video and offered me a contract so I would be stupid to turn it down.
Because I was so young it put a lot of pressure on my shoulders especially being signed by Def Jam I couldn’t afford to mess up and everyone had such high expectations of me so there was no room for error. I must admit I did find it hard settling in but they were very welcoming and helped me a lot with my music.
My family were really behind me and supported me for whatever I wanted to do, if I was happy so were they. They want me to have a successful and happy life and if music was the path I chose then they were behind me, and I’m sure they won’t be complaining when it comes to Christmas and birthdays with the money I make.
I suppose music industry has helped changed me for the better, its helped me gain more confidence in myself and makes me value what I have because opportunities like this are very rare and I am extremely lucky to have the life I have.
For readers who have never heard my music, here is a definition of my music in 5 words:Shake that ass lil’ mama!
It feels amazing having my single at number 1 I never would have expected ‘Drop that ting’ to do that good and it’s really gave my career a head start and hopefully the songs I write in the future and my album will be even more of a success.
When im not recording or writing my music I do alot of thigs but it really depends what mood I’m in, if I’m all stressed out I like to either chill at home in my pj’s on the sofa and catch up on
TV shows or movies, or go for a nice relaxed cruise
in my Porsche where it’s just me, my music and the road. But if I’m in a happy
mood all call up all my girlfriends and go shopping or hit the clubs for a messy night out.
In the future I would like to keep competing for
that number one spot with all my music and hope to bring out a debut album soon and just keep all my fans happy with my music.
My role model ever since I went into the music industry has got to be Nicki Minaj she is such an inspiration and I think her music and her image is perfect and I hope I get to perform with her one day.
I would love to perform with the likes of Drake, Trey Songz, Tyga, Lil Wayne, Rihanna and of course the one and only Nicki Minaj and I hope one day I get to perform with all these artists
My favourite artist has got to be frank ocean his music is just so relaxing and his voice is just amazing I could listen to him sing all day.
