About
A non-government, non-profit organisation incorporated in 2010,
under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act
Vision
To strengthen the health systems in the country by establishing and leveraging a network of healthcare
professionals
Mission
To establish a network of healthcare professionals across the country, which will be a platform for:
• Bridging the needy in the rural areas and volunteer medical experts who would be willing to provide
services for medical outreach camps and capacity building of rural healthcare workers
• Cross-learning
• Building a repository of best health/medical practices
• Enabling the members to function as an interdisciplinary team for working in areas of common and public
interest

Areas of work
• Strengthening of public health infrastructure (setting up and management of public health
facilities and mobile medical units, installation of water purification units etc.)
• Capacity-building of health professionals (development of training content and conducting
training programmes)
• Technical assistance and support (planning, designing, implementation, monitoring, • Technical assistance and support (planning, designing, implementation, monitoring,
evaluation, and process documentation of public health projects/programmes; and planning,
designing, setting up and management of public health facilities)
• Health promotion initiatives (setting up and management of help-lines, designing of IEC
material, organising health camps etc.)

Needs assessment study
Objective
• To identify gaps in the existing health delivery mechanisms and propose
effective strategies and interventions for plugging these gaps, including
potential opportunities of collaboration amongst various stakeholders potential opportunities of collaboration amongst various stakeholders

Key findings
• To improve the overall health scenario in the district, urgent action was
required to be taken at two levels – installation of arsenic removal plants
at the community level and construction of model hospitals at the block
level

Projects
Community Hospitals
• Project with CSR arm of the Financial Technologies

Leadership Team
Dr. Anuradha Khairnar (MBBS, MRCGP, DFSRH) – Director
Dr. Anuradha Khairnar is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners
(MRCGP) of the United Kingdom (UK) and holds a Diploma of the Faculty of Sexual
and Reproductive Health (DFSRH). She has over 15 years of work experience in
healthcare. She has worked with the National Health Services (NHS) in the UK in
primary care and acute hospital Trusts. She has been one of the managingprimary care and acute hospital Trusts. She has been one of the managing
partners of a group medical practice where she managed large clinical and
administrative teams. She has significant experience in competitive bidding,
strategic planning and implementation of health projects. She has also been
involved in successful mergers and acquisitions of GP practices in the UK. Prior to
her stint abroad, she has worked in India in various national health programmes
and state-sponsored health initiatives. She has worked extensively at the grass
root level. Anuradha’s areas of interest include working towards equitable
healthcare, designing and implementing innovative healthcare models, and skill
development in health.

Dr. Vandana Kumar (MBBS, MBA - Healthcare) – Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Vandana Kumar is a medical doctor and healthcare manager with over 12 years
of work experience. She has worked with prestigious private hospitals in Delhi
before her foray into public health. She has expertise and experience in project
management, research and health consulting. She has also worked as a technicalmanagement, research and health consulting. She has also worked as a technical
expert on several health projects. She has worked with corporate groups,
governments, civil society organizations and international agencies on various
health projects. Vandana is also a visiting faculty at the International Institute of
Health Management Research in New Delhi. She is on the advisory board of
Doctors Global Pte. Ltd. – a Health IT company. Her primary areas of interest
include quality in healthcare; use of technology in healthcare; and designing and
implementing innovative health solutions.

Dr. Thriveni Arnala (MBBS, MD) – Head, Operations, South India
Dr. Thriveni Arnala has over 15 years of experience in health care. She has worked in
reputed institutions in India and USA. She specializes in Internal medicine and holds a
certificate of the American Board (AB Internal medicine). Her areas of interest include
research and implementation of programmes in Diabetes and other lifestyle diseases.
Dr. Neerja Johri (Ph.D, Economics) – Head, Public Health Research
Dr. Neerja Johri has worked in the areas of social and economic development research,
project development and management for more than 16 years. During this period, she
has supervised, coordinated and delivered over 40 assignments and projects related to
social development sector. She has expertise and experience in pure and applied socio-
economic research and operations including project design, survey/field plan, data
analysis, documentation and report writing with special emphasis on socio-economic
development. In most of her work participatory approach has been significant. She has
worked extensively in health and nutrition.

Networks
• ISHP has extensive outreach across the country through the existingand upcoming infrastructure, operations and networks of its grouporganisations.
• Indian Society of Agribusiness Professionals (ISAP) is a hugenetwork encompassing over 15000 registered associate members,comprising 1500 experts, 525 partner NGOs, over 824 individualcomprising 1500 experts, 525 partner NGOs, over 824 individualusers and 1050 researchers.
• ISAP has a significant presence at the grass root level.
• 130 people are employed with ISAP at present in 18 locations.
• ISHP will leverage these networks for its work in different states
