IS IT
YET?SHAVUOS
Chesky woke up early on Erev Shavuos morning. He looked at Chaya and asked,
“Is it Shavuos yet?”“No,” Chaya said, “first we
have to go shopping.”
So Chesky and Chaya got ready, davened, and went to the store. They bought
food for Yom Tov and lots of milchig ingredients.
“Is it Shavuos yet?” Chesky asked.
“No,” Chaya said, “first we have to cook for Yom Tov.”
So Chesky and Chaya unpacked the bags. They helped their mother bake
challah, cook the soup, and prepare the meat. Soon the
kitchen smelled yummy from the delicious Yom Tov
foods.
“Is it Shavuos yet?” Chesky asked.
“No,” Chaya said, “first we have to bake cheesecake!”
So Chesky and Chaya washed their hands. They mixed the cheese, flour,
eggs, and sugar together. Before long they had a
delicious cheesecake for Shavuos.
“Is it Shavuos yet?” Chesky asked.
“No,” Chaya said, “first we have to decorate the
house with flowers.
So Chesky and Chaya went to buy flowers. Then they arranged the flowers
beautifully in every room in the house.
“Is it Shavuos yet?” Chesky asked.
“No,” Chaya said, “first we have to set
the table for the Yom Tov
seudah.”
So Chesky and Chaya spread out a tablecloth.
They prepared a setting for each family member and
guest.
Is it Shavuos yet?” Chesky asked.
“No,” Chaya said, “first you have to take a nap because
you will be up all night learning.”
So Chesky went to sleep with a smile on his lips. He dreamed about the
sweetness of Torah. When Chesky woke up, he and
Chaya got dressed in their Yom Tov best and said good-
bye to their Tatty as he headed to shul.
“Is it Shavuos yet?” Chesky asked.
“Yes!” Chaya said, “now it is Shavuos!”
