Act of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all
things, and I long for You in my soul. Since I cannot now receive You
sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have already
come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be
separated from You.

The Sacred Environment
Stations of the Cross
Depictions of these 14 moments during Jesus’ passion are usually
placed on the wall of the church. The stations follow Jesus from the
moment he was judged by Pontius Pilate to the moment he was laid in
the tomb.
The Stations of the Cross can be traced back to the first pilgrims to
the Holy Land during the time of the Crusades. These Christians began
to walk the way of the Cross, retracing the footsteps of Jesus. The
moments in Jesus’ passion were taken back home to the pilgrim’s
homeland and reproduced there. The number of stations varied from
11 to 37 until Pope Clement XII in 1731 set the official number to 14.
The Stations of the Cross in our church offer opportunities for us to
enter into the suffering, passion, and death of our Lord. During Lent
and on Good Friday, we especially revere these 14 stations.
Jesus, as the new Adam, has rejected all temptation to sin right
down to his last act of humanity in laying down his life. The death of
Adam brought into the world by eating of a tree, Jesus turned into life
by dying on a tree. Jesus truly is our Good Shepherd, the Lamb of
God, and the Light of the world. St. Theodore the Studite said it best:
“The fruit of this tree is not death but life, not darkness but light. The
tree does not cast us out of paradise, but opens the way for our
return.”
“The death of the Lord our God should not be a cause of
shame for us, rather, it should be our greatest hope, our greatest
glory. In taking upon Himself the death that he found in us, He has
most faithfully promised to give us life in him, such as we cannot
have of ourselves. St. Augustine

th
Sunday of Ordinary Time “Everyone who acknowledges me before others
I will acknowledge before my heavenly Father.” MATTHEW 10:32
Would others know that you are a Catholic Steward by the way you act and
speak? Do you share your Catholic faith with others? Do you defend your
Catholic faith when the situation arises or do you remain silent? Do you pray in
public before meals? Pray for the strength and courage to be a joyful witness of
our Catholic faith when the opportunity presents itself. Let us become the radiant
light and bold witness that we are called to be!

As I Sees It
My Dear Parishioners of St. Padre Pio Parish,
It iz I, Batman, da rectory doggo. Dis Sunday iz the Twelfth Sunday in Ordinary
Time. Howz did it get to be here so fast?
This week, Jesus tells us, “Do not be afraid; you are worth more than many
sparrows”. (Matthew 10:31) I thought that meant that God lovez doggos more than
birdos, but my Daddo told me that God lovez all His creatures da same, and that
he will take care of us all da time.
If we get scareded, or feel sad, we can always go to God and He will make us feel
safe. He will protect us.
I guess that iz why we call God, our Father in Heaven. He is like our Daddo here
on Earth. If we are scareded here or feel sad, our Daddos do everything they can
to make us feel better.
Today is a special day for Daddos. It is Father’s Day. So tell your Daddo how
much you love him and thank him for all that he does for you.
A special bark out to my Daddo, who always hugs me, and gives me snackos, and
takes me on walkies, and gives me snackos, and LOVEZ ME!!!!!!!
HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!
God Bless all the Daddos
Batman, da rectory doggo)

Weekly Theme
The mystery of our faith requires us to trust in God and what He has revealed to
us. All that He has Created, the Trinity and even how Jesus is conceived is a
Mystery and it is TRUTH.
UNITS
Unit 1: Revelation – God is the Creator of all things. We were created by God in
His image. He did this so that we could be in a relationship with Him. God wants to
share all that He has created with us. God loves us and wants us to love Him,
know Him, and Serve Him in order that we can be Him in Eternity..
Unit 2: Trinity - God is one whole God in three distinct persons/nature. He is
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All are one God.
Additional: MARY – Mary is the Mother of Jesus, Chosen by God for this
purpose. She is shared with us as the Heavenly Mother in order to always point us
towards her Son, Jesus.

An Act of Love
O my God, I love you above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because You
are all good and worthy of all my love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of
You. I forgive all who have injured me, I and ask pardon of all whom I have
injured.

Why Is Mary Called Queen of Heaven?
Bathsheba was the mother of King Solomon of Israel. As any loving son would do,
he obeyed God’s command to honor his mother. So even though the highest
officials of the kingdom bowed when they came before his throne, Solomon
himself stood and bowed before her when she entered the court.
Once he sat down again on his throne, a throne was provided for the king’s
mother, who sat at his right, the highest place of honor he could give her. Then
when she interceded there with the king for his subjects, he gladly granted her
request. Why did Bathsheba have her own throne at her son’s right hand? Why
did she receive such exalted honor at court? After all, she herself had not been
born in a place. Nevertheless, Bathsheba had borne this magnificent royal son.
That made her the queen mother of the land, despite whatever humble
circumstances from which she herself may have come.
Now consider this: Solomon may have been one of the most illustrious and
powerful kings in biblical history. But his splendor pales to nothing beside the
radiant glory of his descendant Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
ruler of all the nations. Jesus fulfilled the prophecy that from David’s throne would
rule a Prince of Peace whose kingdom would be universal and everlasting. That
throne is now in the heavens, far above every principality, authority, power and
dominion. If Solomon honored Bathsheba so highly as his queen mother, how
much more must Jesus honor Mary as His own? How much more exalted must be
the woman-however her lowly original state-who bore the Son of God, Sovereign
of the universe? No doubt her throne, too, is at the right hand of her Son’s throne
in heaven. And, no doubt, just as Solomon was eager to grant his mother’s
requests, so Jesus gladly responds to her intercession for his subjects.
Mary’s exalted role among the saints also reflects her extraordinary position as our
great exemplar of faith, the prototype of the Christian disciple. With Elizabeth, we
say to her: “Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the
Lord would be fulfilled.”
In St. John’s vision of heaven, the “woman clothed with the sun, with the moon
under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars,” bore a son “destined to
rule all the nations”. Is it any wonder that in a portrait, Catholics see Mary, Queen
of Heaven?
