IREE 202114th International Railway Equipment Exhibition

Embassy of India, Tokyo is glad to inform that the next edition of IREE - 14th

International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE 2021) is scheduled from 21-23 October2021 at New Delhi. It is being organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) inassociation with the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. IREE serves as a GlobalPlatform for Railway Technology & Services. This is the largest event for the RailTransportation Sector in this part of the world. 

2. IREE is the only event in India for the Rail Transportation Sector with activeinvolvement and participation of Indian Railways, which is the third largest rail network inthe world, operating over 12,000 trains to carry over 23 million passengers per dayconnecting about 8000 stations spread across India.  Indian Railways run 7000 freighttrains per day carrying over 3 million tonnes of freight every day. With its continuousupgradation and modernisation plans, Indian Railways offers opportunities in Suburbancorridor projects, High Speed train projects, dedicated freight lines – port/mining lines,rolling stock including train sets and locomotives/ coaches manufacturing andmaintenance, railway electrification, signalling systems, improvement of terminals andmanaging freight terminals and development of passenger terminals.

3. Indian Railways (IR) will put up the largest IR Pavilion at IREE, showcasing itsstrengths and future requirements including development of new vendors and suppliers forits modernisation plans. Senior IR representatives – decision makers and technicalexperts - will visit IREE to identify suitable vendors and future product suppliers for IndianRailways. In addition to the IR Pavilion, IREE attracts participation of over 500 companiesfrom 20 countries spread across an area of around 30,000 sq mtrs.

4. International Rail Conference (IRC 2021), an international conference for the railtransportation sector, is also being organised concurrently with IREE 2021 which would beaddressed by experts from India and overseas, to update on the latest innovations andsuitable upgradation technologies for Indian Railways. IRC is expected to be attended byover 500 delegates from Indian Railways and the Rail Transportation Industry.

IREE - The Exhibition and Conference are organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry(CII) in association with the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. The first show was heldway back in 1990 in Kolkata followed by the next edition in 1994 again in Kolkata. from 1997onwards the show has been moved to Delhi enabling smooth participation of overseas industryand central government. IREE went biennial since 2003 and is the only International show inIndia for the Railway sector with active participation and close association of Indian Railwaysboth at the Exhibition and Conference. IREE has expanded phenomenally both in terms ofquantity and quality of its participations - exhibitors as well as visitors.
