IQAC Activities (2017-18) Significant Activities and Contributions made and accelerated by IQAC FACULTY ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME IQAC took initiative in conducting the annual Academic Retreat on 30 th June and 1 st July 2017, which was a fitting platform for introspection and self-analysis for the teachers. The programme was inaugurated by His Excellency Mar. Sebastian Adayenthrath, Auxiliary Bishop of Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese. The four sessions of the programme refreshed and provided the teachers with the vigour to embark on a new academic venture. STUDENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME A variety of student enrichment programmes were organized under the initiative of IQAC The IQAC organized an orientation programme for the first year degree students. Rev. Fr. Sabu Sabu Thomas, Assistant Professor, Dept. of English, Sacred Heart College, Thevara delivered a motivational talk to initiate the students into a new phase of their life.

IQAC Activities (2017-18)

Significant Activities and Contributions made and accelerated by IQAC

FACULTY ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME

IQAC took initiative in conducting the annual Academic Retreat on 30th

June and 1st July

2017, which was a fitting platform for introspection and self-analysis for the teachers. The

programme was inaugurated by His Excellency Mar. Sebastian Adayenthrath, Auxiliary Bishop

of Ernakulam-Angamaly Archdiocese. The four sessions of the programme refreshed and

provided the teachers with the vigour to embark on a new academic venture.

STUDENT ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME

A variety of student enrichment programmes were organized under the initiative of IQAC

The IQAC organized an orientation programme for the first year degree students. Rev. Fr.

The IQAC took a major step to widen the scope of Add-On courses aiming at the all-

round development of the students. All the departments conduct a course in collaboration

with External experts in the field. The courses cover a wide range of topics from Digital

Branding to Graphic Designing to Training for Competitive Examinations

Under the initiative of IQAC, the dept of Commerce organized an orientation programme

on Trauma & Emergency Care in collaboration with Rotary Club of Cochin West and

Lakeshore Hospital, Kochi

The IQAC took initiative to organize a four day Finishing School training programme

titled “Employability Training” for MSW and MBA students

The department of Finance and Taxation in collaboration with IBPS conducted a session

on cracking interviews and competitive exams for the students

A three day street play training programme for the I MSW students. They were taken to

Snthwana Institute of Counseling and Psychotherapy, Kochi and Kusumagiri Mental

Health Centre and Welfare Services as a part of Agency Orientation Visit.

The Dept of Commerce organized a visit as a part of the Industrial Visit of the Final

Year B Com students

The IQAC successfully conducted the internal examinations and result analysis

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME FOR PARENTS

An orientation programme for the parents was conducted under the initiative of IQAC to

make them aware about effective parenting in the contemporary times

ADMINISTRATIVE PROGRAMMES

The IQAC took initiative in preparing the academic calendar for the year 2017-18

The IQAC was instrumental in coaxing the management to renovate the Principal’s

office, IQAC room, Conference Hall, Reception, Bookstore and Canteen

SOCIAL WELFARE PROGRAMMES

The IQAC took initiative to organize various programmes for the cause of society

The AICUF unit of the college began the collection of old usable medicines and cloths to

support the poor. The members of AICUF visited the House of Providence at Vilangu

and distributed cloths collected to the inmates.

The department of Taxation, provided financial aids to the needy cancer patients

A blood donation drive was conducted on the World Blood Donation Day in

collaboration with Sunrise Hospital

The dept of English organized a talk on “My Boby, My Care: Health and Hygiene” by

Dr. Prema George, Chief Gynecologist, Carmel Hospital, Aluva for Girl’s Home

residents, Kakkanad
