IQ Solutions Internship Program: Brief History • Program began in 2007

• Started with a questionnaire of staff to ascertain their interest

• First interns came on board in January 2008

• Program has grown each semester

• Summer of 2010 we had some 22 interns

Types of Internships

• All internships are paid; interns are generally paid between $10-$15.00/hour depending on area, education and experience

• Full time and part time interns

• Internships are generally for a semester, but often times extended

• Some interns have stayed as long as a year

• Many interns have been promoted into full time positions

• Both undergraduate and graduate students

• Some interns are finished with school and using the internship as an opportunity to gain further experience

Application Process • Internships are available fall, spring and summer semesters; three cycles

per year

• Applications are managed through our database system called Balance Track and reviewed on a rolling basis

• Students interested in a spring internship beginning in January 2012 should apply late October/early November

summer: late March/early April

fall: late July/early August

• All resumes are reviewed by me personally

• Final interviews and selections will be conducted by hiring managers

• Spring internships will commence January 24-May 13 2012. Where possible all new interns will start on that day.

• Average intern received $11.25/hr for 33 hours per week

• 9 of the study group interns were promoted
