At CaseWare Africa we strive to ensure your IPSAS Accrual
CaseWare file is updated with the latest compliance changes as well
as continuously improving your experience using CaseWare.
As part of this journey this release will further update your
CaseWare file with the latest compliance requirements as well as
improvements to existing requirements based on feedback from our
users.
1.1. Compliance changes and improvements The following
compliance changes will be added by this release to your CaseWare
file:
• IPSAS 1 – Presentation of Financial Statements
o Line items are added to the Face of the Statement of financial
Performance
§ Write-down or reversal of write-down of inventories to net
realisable value
§ Write-down or reversal of write-down of property, plant and
equipment to recoverable amount or recoverable service amount
§ Costs of restructuring of activities or reversal of costs of
restructuring of activities
§ Litigation settlements
o All reference to IPSAS Standards is updated and any out of
date content are removed.
• IPSAS 2 – Cash flow statements
o Adding option to prepare the Cashflow based on the indirect
method
• IPSAS 3 – Accounting policies, changes in Accounting Estimates
and errors
o Update to the New standards and Interpretations note
• IPSAS 18 – Segmental reporting
o Added new accounting policy based on IPSAS 18
o Added new note based on IPSAS 18
• IPSAS 31 – Intangible assets
o Provided alternative way to present Intangible assets in the
note.
• Transitional provisions for the IPSAS Standards
o Update transitional provision disclosure requirements for the
following standards:
§ IPSAS 13 Leases
§ IPSAS 16 Investment properties
§ IPSAS 17 Property, plant and equipment
§ IPSAS 21 Impairment of non cash generating assets
§ IPSAS 31 Intangible assets
