What:
Students learn how to recognize, count, add, and make change with U. S. coins. This app teaches what a penny, nickel, dime, quarter, half dollar, and dollar coins look like, both front and back. Other parts of this app include:
• U.S. State Quarters collection. • match coins and determine differences in
looks and size. • add coins. • add different coins. • pay for items. • make change.
Young students benefit from voice instructions.
How: A student voice speaks the instructions for each activity; therefore, a young child can learn about money, how to count money, and learn to pay for an item by listening to the directions. This app can be used in centers, by partners, individually, or by the teacher using a document camera.

What: Sticker Shop is a strategy game focusing on the value of coins. The object of the game is to purchase (collect) as many stickers and as quickly as possible with a variety of purchasing strategies. Students must manipulate the coins to get the most stickers. The mathematical concepts covers are
• Count and compare coins to total $2.00 or less • Identify and use the correct symbols: $, ¢, and
decimal point.
How: Students choose a sticker from the sticker book and the storekeeper says the price. A representative penny, nickel, dime, and quarter are at the bottom of the screen. The student pushes coins, one by one, onto the counter until the correct purchase price is met.
