Toextend the battery life of your iPhone 5, you only need to change some settingsof your iPhone. The biggest battery consumers are the screen display, pushnotifications and wireless connections such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. We havelisted the most effective ways, and take you step-by-step through the differentmethods of how to extend your iPhone 5¡äs battery life. Follow these tips andtricks and make yiour use of the iPhone 5 more enjoyable.
1. Adjust screen brightnessAlthough iPhone 5 uses a high-resolution Retina screen which make itamazing. But the better and brighter of the screen, the faster battery drained.So in in order to get more battery life, lower the screen brightness to minimumlevel that you can comfortably use.. Go to Settings > Brightness & Wallpaper >Adjust the Brightness level. And turn on Automatic Brightness. Turn Auto-Brightness on and you¡¯ll save battery because your screen will need to useless power in dark places.
2. Disable all wireless connectivity when not in useWi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3G, and 4G LTE consumes a lot of power especially thedevice keeps looking for an active connection. But when you don't need thetechnology, turning this setting off saves some battery life. Go to Settings > Turnoff Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For 3G and 4G, go to Settings > General > Cellular >Disable LTE. To disable GPS, go to Settings > Privacy > Switch off LocationServices.
3. Turn Off Location ServicesOne of the coolest features of the iPhone is its built-in GPS. This allows yourphone to know where you are and give you exact driving directions, give thatinformation to apps that help you find restaurants, and more. When your iPhoneneeds to grab your current location using the GPS chip, battery life can beseriously deteriorated by this power-hungry chip. If you aren't using it, then turnoff Location Services for all applications by visiting Settings > Privacy >Location Services, and flipping the Location Services switch to "Off."
4. Turn off notificationsYour iPhone 5 lets you know whenever you have a missed call, text message ornotification within an app with its red circles. This is great for staying in theknow, but you don't always need to know when someone tweeted at you orwhen a game has an update, especially when it drains your juice faster.You¡¯re probably realized by now that accessing wireless networks costs youbattery life, so turning data push off, and thus reducing the number of times yourphone connects to the network, will extend your battery¡¯s life.
5. Limit Email Fetching
Push Services, including Push Email can slowly eat away at your battery life.Deactivate Automatic Push and switch to manual update of your email. Go toSettings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Turn off Fetch New Data. If you want tomanually configure which accounts are automatically pushed or manuallyupdated, click on Advanced
6. Auto-Lock SoonerAfter a certain amount of time, your iPhone 5's screen sleeps and lessprocesses likely to be running to save battery. You can set your iPhone toautomatically go to sleep in - Settings > General > Auto-Lock. Try setting Auto-Lock to less than 1 minute.
7. SBSettings for longer battery lifeIf you have jailbreaked iPhone 5, you can download the app "SBSettings" fromCydia. This gives you quick access to all the settings of your iPhone, allowingyou to extend the battery life.
