    Election as a Corporate member (MRINA) is a milestone in your Professional Developmentthatis reached when you have met the Institutions requirements or proessional competence ande!perience across a ran"e o activities relevant to the desi"n# construction and maintenance omarine vessels and structures# and to your employment$

    %he standards o proessional competence and commitment required or Corporate membership aredeined by a series o Professional Development &b(ectives$ %hese &b'ectives may be achievedby e!perience# internal trainin"# or e!ternal activities (e" trainin" courses# conerences# ranchmeetin"s# etc)$ Any relevant previous e!perience# not necessarily in the marine ield# and wore!perience "ained prior to "raduation may also help you in part to meet the requirements$

    Corporate members may apply to be placed on the En"ineerin" Council (*+)s re"isters as aChartered En"ineer (CEn")# Incorporated En"ineer (IEn") or En"ineerin" %echnician (En"%ech)$Re"istration will additionally require academic qualiications speciic to each re"ister# and an

    Interview$ Re"istration is not a requirement or Corporate membership

    %he ,roessional -evelopment &b'ectives are "rouped under the broad headin"s o Design#%ngineering Practiceand Management +ervices# but more than one &b'ective may be achievedby the same activity$

    Levels of Ability

    %he minimum levels o ability required in each activity are implicit in the &b'ectives$ %hese levels are

    broadly deined as.

    Having knowledgeor being awareof an activitys existence and the reason for it

    Understandingthe reason for an activity and being familiarwith how it should be carried out

    Having the skillto be ableto carry out an activity competently and without further guidance
