COURSE DESCRIPTIONThis conference is designed for practitioners, residents, and physician assistants in Urology, Family Medicine, and Nephrology. The course is designed to cover a wide variety of urologic disease from infancy to adulthood. Urologic diseases affect a large portion of the population and this course is designed to give a broad overview of the contemporary management of these patients.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVESUpon completing this conference, participants should be able to:

• Understand the complexity of genitourinary complications from external beam radiation therapy.

• Explain the differences between various BPH treatments and why one technology/therapy may be better than another.

• Discuss indications for various treatments for urinary incontinence following intervention for prostate cancer.

• Understand the process for technology development and how new ideas are brought to market.

• Review the current guidelines for diagnosis and treatment of lower urinary tract infection and overactive bladder.

CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION CREDITACCREDITATION: This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and the Iowa Urologic Society. The Carver College of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
