From the Heart – judged based on creativity, passion, and expressiveness. Other student “Writers of Distinction” will be eligible to win amazing prizes including e-readers, gift certicates and fun gifts from area merchants! FRIDAY, JAN. 17 Once Upon a Time Sheraton Iowa City • 6PM The Once Upon a Time young author dinner is a magical literary celebration to honor stories written and performed by children from each elementary school in Iowa City. We are proud to welcome best- selling children’s book author and illustrator Loren Long as keynote speaker for the evening. Loren is the creator of the New York Times bestselling Otis series and illustrator of President Barack Obama’s Letter To My Daughters: Of Thee I Sing, the re-illustrated edition of The Little Engine That Could by Watty Piper, and Mr. Peabody’s Apples by Madonna.
