Moxa’s compact remote I/O combines a fixed number of I/O points in a single space
-saving package.
Ethernet I/O with Daisy Chain function
Moxa’s compact remote I/O combines a fixed number of
I/O points in a single space-saving package. Moxa covers all your Ethernet to serial needs with a variety of
products. Moxa’s patented Active OPC Server™ reduces network traffic with an active communication structure
that actively updates I/O status to the host.
A new daisy-chained Ethernet I/O concept is now available. The ioLogik E1240 industrial Ethernet remote
I/O has two embedded Ethernet switch ports that allow information to flow to another local Ethernet device or
connect to the next ioLogik in the daisy-chain. Applications such as factory automation, security and surveillance
systems, and tunnel monitoring, can make use of daisy-chained Ethernet for building multi-drop I/O
networks over standard Ethernet cables. Many industrial
automation users are familiar with the multi-drop configuration typically used in fieldbus applications. The
daisy-chain function on the Ethernet remote I/O ioLogik E1240 not only increases the connection between
machines and panels, but also lowers the cost of buying separate Ethernet switches, and at the same time reduces
labor fees and cabling by a large percentage. For example, if a production facility contains 700 stations (20 points per
station), the wiring cost reduction can reach 15% of the total implementation cost.
For Modbus devices that are controlled and detected by
fixed addresses, users need to spend a vast amount of time researching and verifying the configurations. Users
need to locate each device’s networking details like I/O
channels, or vendor-defined addresses to enable the initial or start address of a SCADA system or PLC. The ioLogik
E1200, with user-definable Modbus/TCP addressing, offers greater flexibility, and setup is easy. Instead of worrying
about individual devices, users simply configure the functi-on and address map to fit their needs.

Moxa ioPAC 8020 RTU controllers come with either 5 or 9 I/O expansion slots in a
compact and rugged design.
ioPAC 8020C Ruggedized Modular RTU Controller
ioPAC 8000 rugged modular RTU controllers are designed
for front-end data acquisition and monitoring applications. The controllers are equipped with a powerful processor
and a variety of interfaces, and the two built-in Ethernet switch ports allow you to set up a line bus topology with
non-stop daisy chain architecture. The built-in power redundancy modules improve system reliability, and
durable M12 Ethernet connectors and spring-type terminal blocks, which are designed for high vibration
environments, ensure reliable operation for train-related and other intense applications.
The ioPAC 8020- a rugged modular RTU controller with 5 or 9 I/O slots--supports a wide selection of I/O modules
and comes with a DIN rail mount specifically designed to withstand severe vibrations. This RTU features an
aluminum chassis for vandal protection, spring-type terminal blocks for gas-tight and vibration resistant wire
contacts, and optional M12 connectors to ensure that your Ethernet connectors remain connected at all times.
Further features a Linux/GNU platform adapted to data
acquisition and condition monitoring. The main advantage
of this open C platform is its user-friendly SDK, which helps economize on installation and configuration
overhead by reducing your programming workload for key areas like I/O control and condition monitoring,
SCADA/DB interoperability, and improving smart communication controls.
The ioPAC RTU controllers have a built-in Ethernet switch
with 2 ports for cascading multiple ioPAC RTU controllers in a convenient daisy-chain configuration. Together with a
poweroff bypass mechanism, the ioPAC RTU controllers
can maintain continuous, seamless data transmissions even when one of the RTUs fails.

The ioLogik E2200 Micro RTU supports simple and powerful Click&Go™ technology
to deliver event-driven reports and allow to send alarm messages.
ioLogik Micro RTU I/O Controller
The ioLogik E2200 Micro RTU supports simple and
powerful Click&Go™ technology to deliver event-driven reports and allow alarm messages to be sent by email,
TCP/UDP, and SMNP Trap with real-time stamps. With built-in Click&Go™ intelligence, the ioLogik E2200 micro
RTU can be used for simple output control when it is triggered by input status, without the need for a PC
controller. The ioLogik E2200 micro RTU reports I/O status automatically based on user-specified conditions.
This report by-exception approach requires far less bandwidth than the traditional polling approach.
In addition to Modbus/TCP, ioLogik E2200 RTUs support the widely used SNMP and CGI (Common Gateway
Interface) protocols, giving IT engineers easy access to control and monitoring systems with familiar SNMP
protocols and knowledge. The ioLogik E2200 micro RTU can send out SNMP trap alarms and also accept SNMP as
a means of reading or writing to I/Os. To protect net-work communications, the ioLogik E2200 micro RTU also
supports SNMP v3 for message authentication and
encryption. With Moxa’s SNMP-capable ioLogik RTU controllers, even IT customers can easily integrate any
connected sensors and devices into an Ethernet backbone, and achieve proficient network management
for many other applications, such as environmental monitoring, telecom, power, and transportation.
The ioLogik E2200 micro RTU supports the free, push-based Active OPC Server utility to build seamless
connections with any SCADA system. Using active communications, Moxa Active OPC Server is extremely
efficient at “pushing” event-triggered data from the ioLogik RTU to the SCADA system or IT database. In a
test of network performance, Active OPC Server and Moxa’s ioLogik RTUs demonstrated proven performance
in delivering an I/O response that’s 7 times faster.

Active Remote Monitoring and Alarms over Celluar Networks and cost effective
remote Automation.
ioLogik Celluar Micro RTU Controller
Moxa’s ioLogik W5300 series introduces a next generation
cellular RTU that combines the I/O controller, cellular modem, and data logger into a compact box design that
reduces deployment time and cost, and simplifies operation and maintenance. The ioLogik W5300 series
comes with a cellular interface that supports tri-band HSDPA/UMTS and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE
frequencies, offering a full spectrum of 3G mobile communication services. The cellular RTU is a rugged,
wide-temperature remote terminal unit well suited for hard-to-wire remote monitoring and alarm applications,
such as unmanned site monitoring, riverside monitoring, and pipeline monitoring.
When Active OPC Server™ and DA-Center™ are used together, upon network reconnection Moxa’s ioLogik
W5300 series of RTU controllers are able to transmit data logs collected offline. After each network connection, the
DA-Center database gateway will compare historical data stored on the ioLogik W5300’s local SD card with its
received, real-time data, and then supplement any missing data by requesting re-transmission from the RTU
For most cellular solutions, each remote modem as well as the central SCADA server is assigned static public IP when
establishing bi-directional communication. Yet cellular network carriers charge higher monthly fees for static,
public IPs than dynamic, private ones. Moxa’s ioLogik W5300 series and patented Active OPC Server allow users
to implement dynamic IP assignments for the RTUs. The ioLogik W5300 can automatically establish
communications with the Active OPC Server using a fixed IP, and the Active OPC Server™ will receive and register
the ioLogik W5300’s IP address and receive or record tag updates accordingly.
