SPECIFICATIONS

The Hydraulics & Pneumatic Training System shall be a modular program in fluid power and its applications. The combination Hydraulics/Pneumatic Training System shall use industrial components that are used in real-world hydraulic/pneumatic systems and shall allow students to build, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot fluid power systems.

Each subsystem shall be further divided into specific topics which deal with the components found in industry. This system shall allow co-mingling of products such as pneumatic systems. All hardware shall come with a two-year warranty. Virtual simulation software for Hydraulics and Pneumatics shall accommodate 20 students and will be a perpetual license with no annual subscription fees. The training system shall contain the following equipment:

Courseware The curriculum shall consist of fully-illustrated student manuals and instructor guides. The manuals shall be divided into two categories: Student Manuals and Instructor Guides.

Student manuals shall include a description of the objectives, a list of required equipment, a list of safety procedures, and a detailed list of steps required to attain the objectives safely and efficiently. The topics shall be introduced in different exercises. Review questions at the end of each exercise shall allow the student to verify what was learned in the student manual. Instructor guides may be used to evaluate students and verify that they have understood the current topic. All manuals shall be available as PDF files on a CD-ROM for an unlimited license. Hardware Descriptions

All components shall have schematics on them to speed up the learning process. They shall also be easily moveable to teach circuit assembly. All components shall meet industrial safety standards, be identified with the proper ANSI symbols on their base, and be equipped with male check-valve quick connect fittings.

The Hydraulics Training System shall include at least the following equipment with their respective requirements:

Hydraulics Fundamentals:

Work Surface Features of this equipment shall include:

– A solid metal, universal drip-tray hinged to a perforated, tiltable work surface on which components can be mounted – Configured to accommodate a wide variety of spaces and teaching needs

– Lying flat over the drip tray, or tilted at 45°, the work surface shall provide a large area on which hydraulic components and space-expanding work surfaces can be mounted at any location, either at 0° or 90°

– Mounting and removal of components shall be especially easy with push-lock fasteners that shall snap into the perforations of the work surface

– Dimensions (H x W x D): 80 x 900 x 700 mm (3 x 35.5 x 27.5 in)

Bench (combination Hyd/Pne) Features of this equipment shall include:

– Mobile workstation with an “A” Frame configuration that will allow students to perform hydraulics on one side and Pneumatics on the reverse where a work surface can be put

– Shall provide a direct visual reading of the oil flow rate – Mounting: In-line, vertical or horizontal

1 General Description for Virtual Simulation Learning Software The Hydraulics and Pneumatics software shall simulate hydraulics and pneumatics systems into a course that covers fluid power extensively, and recreate a three-dimensional classroom laboratory on the computer screen, enabling students to install virtual hydraulic and pneumatic equipment in the laboratory, interconnect the equipment, and perform measurements and lab exercises. This software will be included with no annual subscription fees and property of the school when purchased. Sophisticated mathematical models shall be fully simulated in real time the mechanical and electrical characteristics of the pneumatic or hydraulic components and electrical control devices of real training system. All components and devices contained in the programs shall feature the same functionality and appearance as a real training system. Menus and toolbars shall be filled with tools, components, equipment, and work surfaces, thus enabling users to create a complete, customized system. Cutaway views, animations, and onscreen measurement tools shall enhance the students understanding.

2 Courseware The curriculum shall consist of fully-illustrated student manuals and instructor guides. The manuals shall be divided into two categories: Student Manuals and Instructor Guides. Student manuals shall include a description of the objectives, a list of required equipment, a list of safety procedures, and a detailed list of steps required to attain the objectives safely and efficiently. The topics shall be introduced in different exercises. Review questions at the end of each exercise shall allow the student to verify what was learned in the student manual. at Luzerne County Community College ("LCCC") Each owner/operator/individual/officer submitting a bid or for whom a bid is being submitted on behalf of the owner (each being referred to as a “Provider”) to LCCC certifies that he/she/they are not a spouse, child, parent, brother/sister (each being referred to as an "Immediate Family Member") of any LCCC employee or Board of Trustee member at LCCC who owns more than a one (1%) percent ownership interest in the Provider/Provider’s business. If the Provider is an Immediate Family Member, according to College Policy and Procedure, disclosure must be made, and LCCC may decline entering into a business relationship with the Provider. Disclosure shall be made in writing at the time of submitting the bid to the Director of Purchasing. Violations of any of the policies or procedures may result in rejection of the bid. Additionally, LCCC may have the right to recover damages suffered by LCCC in obtaining an alternative bid, which damages may include, but are not limited to, consequential damages and reasonable attorney’s fees.
