Health & Productivity Investments CIGNA offers a wide array of programs andresources to help you get healthy, stay healthy and be productive.

CIGNA Medical BenefitsCIGNA is in the business of health, so our employeesare the first to take advantage of our innovative plansand services. CIGNA employees and dependentshave access to CIGNA HealthCare’s flagshipconsumer-driven health plans, with you and CIGNAsharing the cost of medical coverage. CIGNA ChoiceFunds are consumer-driven medical plans combinedwith either a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)that CIGNA funds for you, or a Health SavingsAccount (HSA) that you set up with JP Morgan Chase.(You pay for your costs on a pretax basis throughpayroll deductions.1)

These plans give you the freedom to see any licensedprovider, allow you to take a more active role inmanaging your health care, and they cover preventivecare at 100%. Our medical program also includes amanaged care Network option or Open Access Plusoption, depending on where you live.

When you elect any of these plans you have access to the following:

Dental BenefitsCIGNA offers eligible employees and dependents achoice of dental plan options that include coverage forpreventive, routine, major and orthodontic dental care.You and CIGNA share the cost, with your costspayable on a pretax basis through payroll deductions.1

Your plan choices depend on where you live andtypically include the CIGNA Dental Care HMO andCIGNA Dental PPO (Preferred Provider Organization),or when not available, Dental Select.

Prescription PlanThe CIGNA HealthCare medical plan options includea Prescription Drug Program that offers you analternative to the traditional retail pharmacy. If you are enrolled in a CIGNA HealthCare medical planoption, your prescriptions may be filled by participatingretail pharmacies at discounted prices, the CIGNA Tel-Drug® mail-order prescription program (formaintenance medications) or non-participating retailpharmacies. Costs will vary depending on the optionyou choose.

Vision CareAll CIGNA HealthCare Medical plan options includecoverage for periodic, routine eye exams. In addition,a special discount program for eye exams, frames,lenses, and contacts is available to employees andtheir eligible dependents, regardless of whether theyparticipate in a medical option.

Health Care Flexible Spending AccountRegardless of the medical plan you choose, CIGNAemployees can help manage the changing costs ofhealth care services with a Health Care FlexibleSpending Account (FSA)2, which allows you to setaside pretax dollars to reimburse yourself for certainhealth care-related expenses that are either notcovered or only partially covered by health careplans. CIGNA's Online Calculator/MedicalComparison tool helps you forecast your out-of-pocketcosts, and convenient payroll deduction makes youraccount contributions easy.

Dependent Care Flexible Spending AccountCIGNA employees have access to our DependentCare Flexible Spending Account (FSA)2, which letsyou set aside pretax dollars to reimburse yourself forcertain dependent care expenses for eligibledependents. Some examples of eligible expensesinclude day care, day camp during the summer andelder care expenses for a parent or other relative wholives with you.

Basic Life Insurance CIGNA provides Basic Life Insurance coverage equalto one times annual eligible earnings to regularemployees at no cost. Coverage is automatic andstarts on your first day of work as a regular employee.

Business Travel Accident Insurance CIGNA provides Business Travel Accident insurancecoverage equal to three times eligible earnings(minimum of $100,000 and maximum of$1,000,000) to regular employees at no cost.Benefits are paid in addition to any other lifeinsurance benefits. Coverage is automatic and startson your first day of work as a regular employee.

Group Universal Life (GUL) Offered through CIGNA Group Insurance, GUL canhelp you protect your family’s home and way of life.CIGNA offers GUL to active regular employees. Youmay also elect GUL coverage for your spouse ordomestic partner, and group term life insurancecoverage for your eligible dependents.

Personal Accident Insurance Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) can help payexpenses if you or a covered family member isseriously injured or killed in an accident. CIGNAoffers PAI to active, regular employees. You may alsoelect coverage for your spouse or your domesticpartner; and for your unmarried, dependent childrenwho are under age 25. You choose the amount ofcoverage, and you pay the full cost of this coverageat group rates on an after-tax basis.

Short-Term Disability (STD)CIGNA’s Short-Term Disability Benefits Plan provides acontinued source of income if you have a certifiedmedical illness or injury that prevents you fromworking for six or more consecutive work days.CIGNA pays the full cost of this benefit, whileprofessional case managers focus on your personalhealth and ability to return to workplace productivity.Depending on your career band and length ofservice, STD benefits may be available for up to 26weeks during any consecutive 12-month period. Thebenefit amount varies by band.

During a disability, a representative from CIGNADisability Management Solutions, your physician andyour manager will work together to facilitate yourreturn to work.

Basic and Supplemental Long-TermDisability (LTD)CIGNA’s Basic and Supplemental Long-Term Disability(LTD) plans provide continuing income for regularemployees who have a covered disability lastinglonger than 26 weeks. Basic Long-Term Disabilitycoverage pays up to 50 percent of your eligibleearnings, with CIGNA paying the full cost of thisplan. Supplemental Long-Term Disability coveragepays an additional 15 percent of your eligibleearnings, with the employee paying the cost with pre-tax dollars through payroll deduction.3

Employee Assistance Program – CIGNA’sEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) is a voluntary and strictly confidential assessment and referralprogram staffed by CIGNA Behavioral Health, Inc.Experienced professionals evaluate problems andassist in finding resources to help deal with andresolve them. CIGNA employees and family membersare eligible for up to three EAP counseling visits at no cost.

Health Advisor – CIGNA employees who chooseCIGNA HealthCare can use CIGNA Health AdvisorSM

to get help understanding a diagnosis, dealing with a chronic health condition or simply getting ananswer to a question about a prescription. CIGNAHealth AdvisorSM is staffed by registered nurses and isalso available to family members of covered CIGNAemployees.

Health Risk Assessment – This easy-to-useonline questionnaire provides valuable feedback onmedical conditions you may be at risk for. If you wish,you can choose to have your assessment forwardedto a CIGNA Health Advisor for further follow up andconsultation.

Healthy Rewards® is a program that makesstaying healthy easier and more affordable, with upto 60% off a variety of health and wellness productsand services such as eyewear, hearing aids,acupuncture, chiropractic services, tobacco cessation,weight management, massage therapy, and muchmore. In addition, CIGNA provides an EmployeeDiscount Program, which offers you significantsavings at national retailers and thousands of localproviders, helping to save you time and money.

Time Off

CIGNA provides a variety of programs for time off,whether it’s to recharge your batteries with avacation, to recover from a disability or take a leaveof absence to handle civic, military or personalobligations.

Paid Time Off (PTO)/vacation – For allemployees, Paid Time Off or PTO, includes vacationand personal or floating holidays. The number of daysyou earn each calendar year depends on your yearsof service and Career Band.

Paid Company Holidays – CIGNA offersemployees eight paid company holidays per year, in addition to floating holidays.

Other Time Off – CIGNA employees can takeadvantage of other types of time off, including paidtime off for adoption, bereavement, jury duty, andsome portion of military leave. CIGNA’s Family andMedical Leave policy also grants up to 12 weeks ofunpaid time off to eligible regular, temporary, andhourly employees for circumstances such asbirth/adoption of a child, and care of the employeeor a family member with a serious health condition.

At CIGNA, westrive to make it simple for you to understandexpected performance, and our pay-for-performance strategy gives you the scope tosucceed and be rewarded for the results you deliver.

Education Reimbursement – Inaddition to numerous and extensive trainingopportunities within CIGNA, the EducationReimbursement Program provides reimbursementto eligible employees for tuition and expensesfor eligible programs/courses at community and 4-yearlicensed institutions, as well as specific fees associatedwith approved professional certification and designationprograms.

Wealth Accumulation InvestmentsCIGNA offers a number of options to help you secureyour financial future:

CIGNA 401(k) Plan – CIGNA‘s 401(k) Plan isdesigned to help you save for your retirement andother long-term financial goals. Subject to certain limits,you can save up to 25% of your eligible earnings on atax-deferred basis4 through convenient payrolldeductions. From 4-to-6 weeks after your hire date,unless you opt out, you will be automatically enrolledin the Plan at a 3% contribution rate. After you have ayear of service, CIGNA matches 50% on the first 6%of eligible earnings deducted from each pay, and youare eligible for a possible additional variable match.The Plan is described in more detail in the CIGNA401(k) Plan Summary Plan Description and Prospectus,which is available online, or upon request, in a printedversion.

CIGNA Pension Plan – When combined with theCIGNA 401(k) Plan, Social Security and your personalsavings, CIGNA’s Pension Plan helps secure yourfinancial future. You are automatically a participant

as of your hire date – even if you work on a part-timeor temporary basis, and there is no cost to you.

The Plan is an “account balance” plan. Your pensionaccount grows through annual benefit credits of 3%to 8.5% of your eligible earnings, and your benefitcredits increase as your age, length of service,

and pay increase. Your account also growsthrough quarterly interest credits.

College Savings Plan – CIGNA offers itsemployees CollegeBoundfundSM, a 529college savings plan that can help make

college dreams a reality for your children orgrandchildren, or even yourself. This plan ismade available through Prudential Retirement

and offers earnings free from federal taxes, anddistributions free from federal taxes when used to payfor qualified college expenses like tuition, room andboard, books and supplies. You can set up an accountand start saving with as little as $50 per month, andunlike other plans, you pay no initial sales charge formaking an investment in CollegeBoundfundSM.

Financial Planning – CIGNA offers two financialplanning resources to employees. Signature Online isPrudential Retirement’s free educational site where youcan access financial planning information relevant toyour needs, your financial priorities and your stage oflife. And through the Ayco Financial Planning ServicesProgram, CIGNA employees can get a wide range of counseling and education services from an industryleader; CIGNA employees pay the cost of Aycoservices.

Life InvestmentsTo help you with the challenges of managing yourfamily and your career, CIGNA offers a number ofsupport options:

Flexible Work Arrangements – CIGNAemployees may be able to take advantage of FlexibleWork Arrangements, depending on your role and withmanager approval.

Child/Dependent Care – On-site child care isavailable at CIGNA’s Bloomfield, CT campus, and

Philadelphia-based employees have access toemergency child care. In addition, all employees cantake advantage of a CIGNA-negotiated child carediscount (typically 10%) at many national and localchild care centers. Centers provide care that rangesfrom pre-school, before- and after-school care, summerprograms, holiday and vacation programs andunscheduled “drop-in” care.

Work/Life Resource and Referral Programprovides free counseling and actual care referrals forboth child care and elder care providers. The serviceis free to all CIGNA employees and their familymembers and is provided by CIGNA BehavioralHealth. CIGNA Behavioral Health employees call1.800.284.6764. All other employees call1.800.249.8153.

Adoption Assistance Program can provideeligible employees with up to $5,000 reimbursementfor covered adoption expenses.

CIGNA Babies is designed to help guide newparents through the stages of pregnancy and theirbaby's first year of life. The program is packed withadvice to help make things run a little more smoothly,and introduces participants – mom or dad – tovaluable CIGNA resources that are available.

CIGNA Moms is CIGNA’s corporate lactationprogram that helps address the physical andemotional challenges working mothers face after thebirth of a child. This special program makes it easyfor working mothers to breastfeed before and aftertheir return to work, and is designed to help make thetransition easier and healthier for you and your child.

On-Site Health Centers at our Philadelphia, PAand Bloomfield, CT locations are available to treatroutine medical issues (i.e., minor injuries, sinusinfections) and offer a variety of services. Someexamples include allergy injections, blood pressuremonitoring, educational resources, flu vaccines,mammography screenings and on-site primary care(limited hours). On-site mammography screening isavailable to CIGNA employees and their spousesage 40 and older at larger CIGNA offices.

On-Site Fitness Center – Philadelphia-basedCIGNA employees can take advantage of our on-site fitness center. Members have a variety ofcardiovascular and strength-training equipmentavailable to them, separate studios for exerciseclasses and wellness lectures, on-site physical therapyand fully equipped locker room facilities with a rangeof amenities – all at a cost lower than the averagefitness center.
