Invasive Species Project

In this project you will pick an invasive species and create either a poster containing fact, information including pictures of the specific invader or you can create a PowerPoint presentation with a minimum of 7 content slides providing information about your choose invader.

Your poster or PowerPoint must have the minimum of the following:

Common Name Scientific Name Where it is native to (where it came from) Date first introduced to the United States A picture of the organism being presented Area of the country impacted by this invasive species A descriptive outline of the impact or possible impact that this organism has on

the new environment If available, the means by which the organism was introduced to the new

environment If available, any plans in place to contain or deal with the problem of this

invasive species

If you do a poster it must be on a regular full sized piece of posterboard. PowerPoint’s must have in addition to the minimum 7 informational slides an introduction slide with your name and title of your PowerPoint and at the end you need to list the resources you used to do the PowerPoint. You must also list your resources on your poster if room allows on the front or on the back if there is not room on the front.
