Introduction to the International Section The staff of Arthroscopy is proud to present the fifth International Section.

Italy has the largest subscription base of any country outside of the United States. We thank Dr. Giancarlo Puddu for organizing these contributions from Italy. They present a wide array of topics, which demonstrates the sophistication that Italy possesses with arthroscopy. Their presentation of microarthroscopy presents an entire new field for investigation and treat- ment possibilities. This points out the necessity for open international dia- logue in order to advance our knowledge as rapidly as possible. Therefore this exciting tradition of featuring a country’s best work in the field will be continued in subsequent issues.
