Adjust Categories and Weights All Edmentum courses come pre-loaded with the recommended categories and weights. You do not need to manually adjust category weights unless you want to change these settings. If you are unable to adjust categories and weights, this means the account administrator has turned off the ability to adjust categories and weights.

Adjusting categories and weights allows you to change how much influence a type of activity has on students’ grades. You can also set all categories to equal weights or remove the weighting.

1. From the My Course Sections page, click the Open Gradebook icon to the right of the course section name.

The course gradebook opens in a new tab.

2. From the Settings drop-down in the upper right corner, select Categories & Weights. The Categories & Weights page opens. The exact categories will vary depending on the course.
