DESCRIPTION

Introductory presentation for the two day IoT lab at hubraum in Berlin, sponsored by Intel, organised by WebVisions and delivered by Claro Partners. IoT Labs bring together designers, developers, makers and strategists to learn, create and prototype people centred offerings in the Internet of Things. In only two days teams go from exploring the IoT to prototyping and pitching new IoT business ideas using Claro's tools like the IoT landscape, IoT canvas and need frameworks.

What is the IoT Lab about?

• It’s a dynamic, hands-on workshop to inspire creativity when designing new connected products and services.

• It’s about solving for people’s needs, not about searching for applications for sensor technology.

• It’s about practising Product and Service Design – in the context of the overlap of the physical and digital worlds.

Page 4: Introduction to IoT lab Berlin

#iotlab @claropartners

How do the teams work together?

• The teams combine people with different backgrounds:

• Designers

• Makers

• Strategists

• Developers

• Work together, using our insights, tools and frameworks to design and develop an IoT-enabled concept (product, service, business model)

• Collaborate and move forward: You will pitch in less then three hours and have 5 minutes to showcase your final concepts at 4pm on Thursday.

Page 5: Introduction to IoT lab Berlin

#iotlab @claropartners

How will you go about creating the concepts the following two days?

EXPLORETeams to explore potential challenges which will be starting points for your IOT concepts

IDEATE + PITCHChoose and pitch an IoT-enabled solution that your team will develop further during the weekend

DEVELOPBuild out the details of the concept: service diagram, who is it for, tech considerations, physical and digital aspects, business model etc.

PROTOTYPEPrototype the product and service in any way you like, to demonstrate how it works and its value to people

FINAL PRESENTATION (4pm Thursday)Present your concept to the rest of the Lab participants in the closing session (5 minutes presentation + 5 minutes questions)

Some brave pioneers of the web were making their own sites

IoT Creators are making their own products and services

But connections across the web didn’t exist

What’s the potential of the IoT as it grows?

?

People were connecting to the world wide web, to access a few sites

(slowly)

IoT-enabled devices are emerging, but there are still many “Intranets of things”

WW

WIO

TThe Internet of Things is nascent. Like the internet in 1995, the IoT is just getting started
