Who we are

If you only hire the best people then you’ll get great work, and if you do great work then all you’ll need is

your reputation.

We’re a small but perfectly formed team of passionate designers, developers and

account managers and we all share the belief that you can only be at the top of your

game when you love doing what you’re doing.

We’ve been growing steadily since 2002 with a simple philosophy,

Why choose us?We believe we’re an anomaly in our industry. It’s rare to find an agency which exceeds

expectation in both design and technical skills. We call ourselves a “full service digital

agency”, which means that if it’s digital, we do it.

This often starts with design, from branding, logo and character design to innovative

interface layouts; we go that extra mile to make your site sparkle.

It’s not just about engaging visuals though: Form has to follow function and we’re

particularly proud of our user experience work, designing web sites and apps that

are intuitive, fast and straightforward to use.

We’re just as frustrated as you with broken checkouts and fiddly forms so we’ve

declared war on unusable design. We think it shows in our work and ultimately it

leads to happy customers and increased profits.

Then we come to the build. We use cutting-edge technologies and techniques to

build all our sites and our technical expertise is second to none. Take a look through

our portfolio and you’ll see bespoke ecommerce sites, complex systems integrations

and search engines, nothing fazes us.

Finally, we can help with all aspects of digital marketing, from designing your

Facebook, Twitter and Google+ pages, to planning your social interaction calendar

and managing your PPC, retargeting and affiliate marketing programmes. Each client

is different and we structure our marketing plans to suit your business needs and

adapt them as you develop and change.

Responsive design

Our team have extensive experience in working with large data sets and providing

extremely intuitive customer interfaces, to ensure that, no matter the complexities

of the information being shown or collected, the actual inputting is simple, fast and

leaves no confusion as to what is needed to progress to a successful sale.

To this end we are advising all clients to consider responsive design for their

new website: Responsive design means that the layout of the website adapts and

reconfigures itself depending on the size and type of device. Eg a website viewed

on a PC will have a different layout when viewed on a mobile phone yet will use the

same Content Management System and the functionality and features will be mostly

identical across devices.

The www.64digital.co.uk website is an example of responsive design; if you open the

website on a PC and a mobile simultaneously, you will see the layouts differ but the

content remain broadly the same. The same effect can be seen if you resize your

browser on a PC.

Current trends for viewing figures show that mobile and tablet usage, although with

a way to go, are certainly gaining on desktop habits and if you are not planning on

redeveloping again for a couple of years, it would certainly be worth considering.

If budgets allow, we would highly recommend this design style; it is complex and

requires a considerable amount of work to be done properly (with both the planning

and design as well as the build) hence the additional costs, however trends in mobile

phone and tablet usage are only going to show increases over the next few years

and a website that presents users with an optimised view for their specific device is

going to be at an advantage in the future.

How we work

Requirements gatheringNo matter how comprehensive the brief, nothing beats meeting face-

to-face and discussing the project from the beginning:

You get to meet the people who will be working on your project, we

get to ask the awkward questions that no one knows the answers to...

...and we all get coffee and cake!

Storyboards / WireframingCall them what you will, low-fi mock-ups of the plans are essential to

any project. If the UI lends itself to it, these wire-frames can be used for

user testing too.

Unlimited iterations means every little details can be discussed and

agreed, saving costs and time further down the line.

PrototypingDepending on the technologies to be used, we may prototype sections

of the site for you to see how the finished version will look – we love

working with brand new technologies, so this phase also gives us the

chance to demonstrate new concepts and prove that our ideas will

work in real life!

DevelopmentCall them what yo Our background is code. Our team work with the

absolute latest technologies to make sure that we are always at the

forefront of development; it shows in our work (and in the fact that

we’re the geekiest office you’ll visit!)

(and yes, the 64 in 64Digital does stand for 64bit)

Testing & LaunchThe proof of the pudding is in the eating as they say; we test the project

in full before suggesting a launch date and provide a feedback system

for you to do the same.

During launch we can be on hand 24/7 and monitor the solution to

ensure the critical first few days go by smoothly. Then it’s over to our

lovely support team to help you manage the site and look after the day

to day maintenance and questions you may have

Designing for digital is not the same as creating print designs – our

team need to consider browser and device capabilities, know what

will happen if a visitor has 27 toolbars installed (it can happen!) and

be able to create beautiful layouts that can be replicated perfectly in

HTML across multiple browsers, devices and operating systems.

Testimonials

Dear Jenny, Ben, Chris and the team at 64 Digital,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for the hard work

and the creation of the new Enercon website.

I know this wasn’t the easiest of briefs but we are delighted with the end

result and it fits perfectly with what was needed in Enercon’s future digital

strategy. The Enercon directors are all extremely pleased with the end

result and we have had some very positive feedback already.

Daniel Hughes - Marketing Manager, Enercon Industries ltd

This is the first year our website hasn’t crashed when the tickets went on sale!

Andrew Collier, Minor Entertainment

investing in the idea with 64 Digital and the end result looks great and

works exactly as agreed.

Peter Silver, Consultant, What School Next

We approached 64 Digital knowing the project was complicated and

required technical capabilities outside our own skillset.

Jenny talked us through the options available and was extremely

knowledgeable, both on the phone and in person. We felt confident
