In Feb' 2017, ARKA JAIN University was established by the JHARKHAND State Legislature under “The ARKA JAIN University Act”. The University is a Government Recognized University with the right to confer degrees as per the section 2 (f) and 22 (1) of the UGC Act, 1956. The sprawling campus of the University is situated at Gamharia, Dist. Seraikela - Kharsawan, 13 kms from Steel City, Jamshedpur. The University offers multi-disciplinary Programmes, all of which are designed to be industry - relevant.

Doctor in Philosophy is the highest Doctoral degree awarded by the University. It is a distinctive training given on research. The Programme aims to train prospective Scholars to become highly skilled and innovative researchers in their respective field of study. A Research Scholar needs to complete their Course Work, Thesis/ Dissertation, Complete Examination and Viva Voice to qualify for the degree.

ARKA JAIN University, Jharkhand offers Ph.D Programme and regulates these through it’s academic Council, and are in compliance with UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of M.PHIL./PH.D Degrees) Regulations, 2016.

It is an advance Post-Graduate Degree involving three or more years of independent research on an original topic

An Entrance Test shall be qualifying with qualifying marks as 50%.The syllabus of the Entrance Test shall consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific. The Entrance Test will be conducted at the University Campus.

Successful candidates can pursue research either Full-time or Part-time. Ordinarily, candidates offered a fellowship by the University or any other agency will have to pursue the research Programme on full-time basis. However, candidates employed in an Educational or Research Organization may be permitted to register as Part-Time Students. Moreover, they will have to work and be present at the University Campus Gamharia when needed for the purpose of their research.

Note: ARKA JAIN University, Jharkhand do not offer any Fellowship or Research stipend to any Full-time/Part-time Students

An interview/viva-voce to be organized by the University, when the candidates are required to discuss their research interest/area through a presentation before a duly constituted Department Research Committee.

Eligibility

Ph.D. Programme shall be for a minimum duration of three years, including course work and a maximum of six yearsExtension beyond the above limits will be governed by the relevant clauses as stipulated in the Statute/Ordinance of the universityThe women candidates and Persons with Disability (more than 40% disability) may be allowed a relaxation of two years for Ph.D in the maximum duration. In addition, the women candidates may be provided Maternity Leave/Child Care Leave once in the entire duration of Ph.D for up to 240 days

The scholars are encouraged to use the computers available in library, may also access Computer Lab for research works and are also encouraged to bring their own mobile device, tablet or laptop as per convenience.

Auditorium: There is an air-conditioned Seminar Hall and Auditorium with audio-visual facilities with ample seating capacity where regular seminars, Paper and other Presentations are regularly held to nurture & polish the talents of our Scholars.

Transportation: A fleet of buses ply from U n i ve rs i t y to v a r i o u s l o c a t i o n s o f Jamshedpur to pick and drop the students and faculties.

Accommodation: The hostel is available for outstation women candidates only.
