Program DescriptionThe Assistant to the KIIS Program Director Internship enablesstudents to shadow a Summer or Winter KIIS program director. The internship is open to graduate students and undergraduate seniors. If interested, please contact the KIIS office before submitting a KIIS application. Intern Assistants pay their selected KIIS program fee and receive a modest $300 KIIS scholarship.
In consultation with the KIIS office and KIIS director, each intern creates a personalized work plan outlining the duties andresponsibilities to be performed on the selected KIIS program. Previous interns have assisted with pre-departure and on-site orientations, helping to coordinate on-site excursions, residence life duties, teaching assistant duties, accounting and administration, risk management, updating program social media sites, program assessment, and assisting with communication between students and faculty. Interns keep a journal (observation and analysis, duties performed and so on) and, at program’s end, they submit a final report to KIIS and the director about their internship experience.
Internship CourseCNS 595/LEAD: Internship: Assistant to KIIS Program Director Note: In addition to the above 3-credit KIIS internship course, Summer interns may take an additional graduate or undergraduate course from among that specific KIIS program course offerings. There is no additional KIIS charge to take a second course.
