BODY
“Real Estate Purchase Decisions in India are massively influenced by the use of internet” stated in news
released by Zinnov, a leading research firm. Their data statistics is mainly focused on search queries
performed on Google, the leading search engine. Indians are now more likely surfing an internet before they
make any of their real estate decisions; they try to look for everything possible that they can see valuable on
web. Property purchase decisions are believed to worth $43 billion so far as properties are influenced
through, says Google – with as many as 50% of real estate buyers’ decisions being inspired by internet
research!
How come internet has become so popular?
Isn’t it an amazing fact for realtors? An importance of emerging technologies like digital devices
(smartphones, tablets in addition to computers and laptops) is unavoidable. And with this, the internet
consumers have fallen high in big numbers involving in internet activities, more or less.
Internet use is much prevalent; mainly attributed to a wide pool of information provided within – including
detailed property information with the latest market trends (about 60%), comparison of services available all
the way through (about 52%), easily accessible interactions to real estate experts (about 49%) and the facts
provided upon any of financial steps or documentations required; around 15 Indian cities such as Pune,
Ahmedabad, Lucknow and others were surveyed with as many as 6,200 respondents.
What research shows?
According to Google, the search queries practiced by real estate searchers are now falling 3 times greater
over the past three years. This certainly triggers a high-value opportunity for real estate developers,
aggregators and agents/brokers to engage online visitors into their services, probably trying to convert them
into an active client.
Websites like makan.com and magicbricks.com are the most favorite online sources for about 62 per
cent respondents, following many other individual real estate professionals (around 52%).
Property related information through personal websites, blogs, forums, articles etc. is much valuable,
affecting roughly 45% of online viewers.
Out of total online searches, nearly 40 per cent queries are performed through mobile, and this
figure is now frequently increasing on, involving a majority of property searchers (mainly through
mobile apps), viewed by almost 73% of respondents.
Netizens stay extremely on internet, especially on social media networks (Facebook, Twitter,
LinkedIn etc.) for exchanging their experience. Twitter itself had attracted millions of viewers last
year.
For a real estate professional, an importance of web presence is like a precious jewel. Yes, one has to
achieve it without fail!
