    The University of Melbourne fee policy forinternational studentsThis is the Universitys policy relating to the calculation and payment of tuition fees for commencing andcontinuing international students in 2011.

    The tuition fees detailed in this publication relate to 2011 only. This policy applies to international students enrolled:

    > in an undergraduate, graduate coursework, or graduate research course (including Masters by Research, Doctoral and PhDcandidates); or

    > in a Study Abroad course; or

    > in Community Access Program (CAP) subjects; or

    > who are studying onshore or offshore.

    This policy does not apply to international students enrolled in courses offered by the Melbourne Business School or Melbourne Consulting

    and Custom Programs.

    An international student:

    > is not an Australian citizen or permanent resident; and

    > does not hold a permanent Australian humanitarian visa; and

    > is not a New Zealand citizen.

    If you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or if you hold a permanent Australian humanitarian visa,

    you should refer to the publicationAustralian Student Tuition Fees 2011available from the University Information Centre, Gate 3, Swanston

    Street or at:

    All tuition and other fees are paid in Australian dollars ($AUD).

    Tuition fees do not include costs such as Overseas Student Health Cover and certain other costs.

    CRICOS

    Where the CRICOS code is shown

    as Pending for a course listed in

    this document, the University is in

    the process of obtaining CRICOS

    accreditation for the course and

    anticipates enrolling international

    students from the start of the 2011

    academic year. The course will only

    be available to international students if

    CRICOS accreditation is obtained.

    Policy amendments

    This fee policy takes effect for all

    students from 1 January 2011.

    The University reserves the right to

    amend this policy as required. Any

    changes will be notified in writing.

    Goods and Services Tax (GST) does not

    currently apply to tuition fees. Should

    this change, the University reserves the

    right to charge GST in addition to thepublished fee.

    It is important that you read this policy

    before completing your administrative

    enrolment. Once you enrol, you will be

    bound by this fee policy and are agreeing

    to pay tuition fees for every year in which

    you are enrolled.

    Fees 2011Tuition fees | International students commencing a course in 2011The tuition fees you pay will depend on the course that you commence. You are required to pay your tuition fees to maintain your enrolment.

    Undergraduate course In 2011 you will pay tuition fees based on theparticular subjects you choose to study in yourcourse.

    The amount you are charged is the sum of thefees for all subjects in which you enrol.A schedule of typical 2011 undergraduate tuitionfees is provided as a guide only for studentscommencing undergraduate courses in 2011.

    For details of the 2011 undergraduate subjectdiscipline fee bands and how to calculate your tuitionfees see Undergraduate course tuition fees 2011,

    The University provides a guarantee to internationalstudents who enrol that the fee will not increase bymore than 7 per cent per annum in any discipline forundergraduate subjects.

    Graduate courses, except for

    courses offered by the Office for

    Environmental Programs

    In 2011 you will pay a course-based tuition fee.

    The amount you are charged is the course feelisted per Equivalent Full Time Student Load(EFTSL) enrolled. This amount is the fee for allstudents commencing in the course in 2011. If youare studying more or less than one EFTSL in 2011,your fee will increase or decrease proportionally.

    The University provides a guarantee to internationalstudents who enrol that the course fee will notincrease by more than 10 per cent per annum.

    Graduate courses offered by the

    Office for Environmental Programs

    In 2011 you will pay tuition fees based on theparticular subjects you choose to study in yourcourse.

    The amount you are charged in 2011 is the sum ofthe fees for all subjects in which you enrol.

    Study Abroad In 2011 you will pay a course fee to the Universityof Melbourne.

    Study Abroad students pay a set tuition fee persemester for their course, irrespective of thenumber of subjects in which they are enrolled.

    Exchange Program The cost of participating in the University ofMelbournes Exchange Program should becovered by the agreement between your homeinstitution and the University of Melbourne.CRICOS codes for Exchange Programs at theUniversity are:

    Community Access Program

    (CAP) | S ingle subject study

    Single subject enrolment may be available to you,depending on your visa status, course enrolment,and where the subjects are not part of yourcourse. Most undergraduate subjects and somegraduate subjects are available for single subjectenrolment through CAP.

    In 2011 you will pay tuition fees based on theparticular subjects you choose to study andthe mode of study selected (assessed or non-assessed mode).

    The amount you are charged in each year is thesum of the fees for all subjects in which you enrol.

    For further details regarding CAP and CAP fees paid,see Australian Student Tuition Fees 2011 and refer tothe Single Subject Studiesbrochure.

    Tuition fees | International students continuing a course in 2011The tuition fees you pay will depend on the course that you are enrolled in, and the year that you commenced in that course. You are
