We are planning to spend the night in a residence hall at the Illinois Institute of Technology and a full day at the Navy Pier and the Field Museum. We need to let IIT know how many are coming as soon as possible, so we will be closing the sign-up soon. You can also contact Rick for this one. FILING YOUR TAX It’s still tax season. If you plan to take advantage of the international student tax service provided by the Office of International Student Success, remember to contact Rick at [email protected] for your access code. You can almost certainly complete the process yourself with the help of all the assistance provided online, but, if not, just do what you can, save your work, and plan to attend one of the tax workshops coming up on March 10 and April 1 MARYVILLE AFTER DARK Don’t miss the Maryville After Dark event this Friday. International Student Success and Residence Life are taking 15 international students and 15 American students to Dave and Buster’s in Maryville Heights for a fun evening. There are only a few spaces left. International Students can sign up on the International Student Association at Maryville University Facebook page or by contacting Rick at [email protected]. OPT And, it’s still OPT season. Remember: You need to apply for OPT 90 days before you want to start your practical training. For those of you graduating in May, that means that the earliest you should plan to begin is now mid-June. Put together everything on this list, then call Rick at 314-529-6843 to set up an appointment to create your OPT form I- 20 and review your other documents.

SPOTLIGHT Let’s meet Anna Khodorovich. She is

graduating in May 2016 with a degree in

Organizational Leadership and minor in

Psychology.

Anna also shared that “I

have always been interested in different

cultures (I learnt German and Japanese

throughout middle school and high

school). When I came to Maryville, I met a

lot of multicultural students. So, it

culminated in creating the International

Student Association last semester, which

is supposed to become the umbrella for

cultural clubs and organizations on

campus, connecting them with each

other.”

outing!

TREX TOUR AND SPEAKER On Thursday, March 3 from 2-4pm,

Maryville will host a tour and speaker

event at the TRex Incubator, which

houses over 100 startup companies in a

variety of industries in the heart of

downtown St. Louis. Optional buses will

be provided. Bus departs at 1:15pm from

the circle drive between Gander & Reid

Hall and will return by 4:45pm. Individuals

and classes are welcome to join, but we

need a good count of who plans to attend

for transportation and catering, so please

Contest RulesPhotographer MUST be a current student at a Missouri college or university.Photo submissions must have been taken while studying in the U.S.Photo must be “true to life” (no digitally altered images, i.e. Photoshop).

How to enterSubmit your photo electronically (.jpg). Only original photos taken by the submitting student will be accepted. Students may submit up to two entries.Attach the photo in an email titled International Student Photo Contest and send to [email protected]. Include your name, name of your institution, and location and date of photo.Include a caption of no more than 100 words describing where the photo was taken and why the photo is significant to you.
