This festival is for young dancers between the age group of 18-25 years. We are
tooking for group presentations of 2-8 dancers. Wc are inviting entries in two
genres- Traditional and Contemporary - for a Dance show on Doordarshan,
t will lead to participation in the inaugural / premiere edition of Asran
oadcasting uniont International Dance festival scheduied in .Ianuary, 2017.rThe finale will be broadcast in most ABU countries, giving it a projection footprint
that will cover half the population of the world.

"You will be happy to know that Prasar Bharati is helping organise an International Dance
Festival for the Asia Pacific Broadcasting union, on the lines of its very successful ABUInternational Song Festival.
The ABU International Dance Festival, which India's Public Service Broadcaster prasarBharati has the honour of hosting in its lirst edition, is scheduled. to be in January , 2at1 inHyderabad, India.
This is a unique festival and it aims at introducing the unique diversities to break culturalbarriers and share the joy that varied communities across the Asia pacilic region feel whenthey come together.
The objective is to create a "bridge" between young people from different parts of the worldthrough dance as an international language, which could help in convergences andassociations, social and artistic.
T\uo categories of dance- TYordltionat and, Contemporary have been identified forinclusion. All presentations will be by dancers, between the age group of 18 to 25 years ofage. It is to be a grouP presentation from 2-8 dancers. There is no age limit forchoreographers.
Entry is free, and success in this event could help change destinies

Those shortlisted after the initial submission will be part of Doordarshan,s Dance Showthat will be telecast nationally. From this short listing will emerge the India team thatwould test itself against the bebt, in an international selection process.
, s6lected by the international jury, Team India would participate in the .SHowcASE, ofthe ABU TV Dance festival which is planned as a grand event schedul ed, in January 2ol7at Hyderabad. This show will be telecast lnternationally on channels of ABU membercountries and seen by the largest Asian audience.
The selection for the India leg of this event, resulting in the representatives from India beingidentified,are on at present. Details for the same can be found on ourwebsite aidf.prasarbharati.org
3rd July is the last date for submitting the application for participation. you can registeronline from our website.
