• Replaces and extends the old Pre-Olympic Congresses before each Summer Olympic Games

• Fully inclusive - all major sport and exercise science partners

• First new-format ICSEMIS hosted by Guangzhou, China in 2008

OBJECTIVES • To celebrate sport sciences across the UK and

internationally• To exchange sport science, clinical and pedagogic

information• To promote education about science, education and

medicine in sport• To encourage multi-disciplinary approaches• To network amongst researchers, pedagogues,

clinicians and practitioners• To present cutting edge research and developments• To secure public engagement by young people and

ordinary members of our communities
