Programme Leader BSc Construction Management & Engineering. 9.30 Mairead O’Flynn, Site Engineer, Laing O’Rourke, UK Mairead O’Flynn is a recent graduate from the CME programme in 2009 and is employed with Laing O’Rourke in their London office. She will give a conference call from the £1.5 billion London Gateway Port Project and she will be talking with Angela Collins from the Careers office about her work since graduation and the current construction opportunities in the UK. 9.50 Tommy Fogarty, Technical Officer with Logan City Council, Queensland, Australia Tommy Fogarty will Skype from Australia. He is currently working as Technical Officer in Logan City Council, just outside Brisbane, on the Gold Coast. Logan is a large blue collar city just south of Brisbane. Tommy studied Construction Management & Engineering at WIT as a mature student. 10.10 Dominic Maher, Vice President at Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. Head of Indian Developments and Tall Buildings programme. Dominic Maher is a graduate of WIT from the mid 1980’s he is now the Head of Indian Developments & Tall Buildings with Goldman Sachs Group where is also the Vice President. Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. is a leading global investment banking, securities and investment management firm. 10.30 Gavin Whelan – Senior Engineer, Skanska Gavin Whelan is a Senior Engineer with Skanska Building based in London & South East UK. Gavin will talk about his progression since graduating from WIT in 2008 to becoming a member of the projects procurement team of a world class company. 11.00 Awards Presentation & Break 11.30 BAM International, Aaron Hennessy & John O'Keeffe Aaron & John, both WIT graduates, will discuss their roles in the management of current construction projects and what is like to work in abroad for BAM International in Libya and Jordan respectively. 12.00 CIOB Award & Novus Presentation by John McSweeney, Vice Chair of CIOB, Southern Centre National CIOB Construction Challenge WIT Students won the 2013 National CIOB Construction Challenge. They will briefly discuss the winning entry for a proposal of development of a derelict site. Eamon Og O’Donnell, P J Delaney, Michael Doheny, Seamus Davies 12.30.
