The rising prices of oil, the electricity problems in some large geographical regions, the discussions

on nuclear energy, the ambitious aims of Europe for environment protection, the necessity of new energy sources, and above all the need for increasing the com-petitiveness of the companies through energy saving… These are only a few of the issues which point to the outstanding priority of the Congress topic. Alternative energy sources are at a great demand at the moment which will affect considerably economics and environ-mental protection. This truly international Вusiness to Вusiness event will take place just a year after the first international conference on energy efficiency in con-struction was held. It had over 300 participants from Bulgaria and other European countries.

The congress organizer, Via Expo, is a company spe-cialized exclusively in arranging international business meetings, conferences, seminars and exhibitions. It has been on the Bulgarian market for about 15 years now.

THE GOAL

The Congress aim is to present European and regional policies and good practices concerning Energy effi-

ciency (EE) and Renewable energy sources (RES), new energy saving technologies and equipment, as well as different ways of financing the implementation of such projects in industry and construction in front of the representatives of the business, central and local authorities.

WHO WILL ATTEND?

Owners and managers of companies, providing products and services from all economic sectors

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy and Energy Resources, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works, as well as representa-tives of local authorities in Bulgaria, the Region and the European Community

 Financial institutions, venture capital companies

Architects, designers, civil engineers, construction companies

OUR PARTNERS

One of the most significant events in the area of energy efficiency and renewable One of the most significant events in the area of energy efficiency and renewable energy sources in South-Eastern Europe in 2005!energy sources in South-Eastern Europe in 2005!

Dear organizers, participants and visitors of the International Congress and Exhibition,

Renewable Energies constitute an immense chance for Bulgaria and the Region, not only by reduc-ing the environmental damages caused by the consumption of fossil and nuclear energy, but also by lowering the high costs for energy sources imports.

In my view, the potential lies largely in the fields of wind energy, the revitalisation of smallhydropower plants, the use of biomass energy and the use of solar power in buildings. Thus it is necessary to deepen and to strengthen the provision of information in industry and con-struction, in science, in energy companies, in agriculture and in domestic energy technique.

The International Congress and Exhibition on Energy Efficiency and Renewable EnergySources is a tremendous event to effectively promote and realize these goals. It is thereforesignificant for both the development of renewable energies and the future of Bulgaria and the Region. I wish all organizers, participants and visitors to benefit from this event.

Dr. Dr. h.c. Hermann Scheer, General Chairman - World Council for Renewable Energy
