    It is our real pleasure to welcome you to the first edition of the International Conference on

    Digital Technologies and Applications (ICDTA’21), organized as an online event owing to the

    current Covid-19 pandemic and broadcasted from Morocco in January 29 – 30, 2021.

    ICDTA'21 is an international conference encourages quality, scientifically valid, original paper

    which presents a good understanding of scientific knowledge, experiments and theories,

    methods and techniques, as well as interdisciplinary linkages, in the field of Digital

    Technologies and Applications.

    The main themes will be Artificial intelligence and Internet of things and their applications in

    several areas as energy systems, Power to x, Robotic, Automotive, Aerospace, Medicine,

    COVID’19, agriculture … In addition, other topics of Embedded systems, blockchain, industry

    4.0 and their applications are also considered.

    The ICDTA'21 has succeeded to attract more than 200 participants from different universities

    of the world, A very rich and attractive scientific program covering multiple aspects of various

    topics is designed to provide an excellent opportunity for networking, dissemination and,

    exchange of innovative research findings related to different issues and topics.

    The overwhelming success of ICDTA’21, is doubtlessly the result of the commitment,

    perseverance, implication and hard work of different stakeholders, particularly, the Organizing

    Committee Members, Technical Program Committee members, keynote, and invited talks

    speakers, and all the participants. We seize this opportunity to address them all our most sincere

    thanks and gratitude.

    We hope you enjoy your time with us and we look forward to meeting you all in the next edition

    of the ICDTA conference.

    ❖ Speaker : Vincenzo PIURI

    Vincenzo PIURI, received his Ph.D. in computer engineering Politecnico di

    Milano, Italy, 1989. He was Associate Professor at Politecnico di Milano,

    Italy (1992-2000) and Visiting Professor at the University of Texas at

    Austin (summers 1996-1999). He is Full Professor in computer

    engineering (since 2000) and Director of the Department of Information

    Technology (2007-12) at the Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy.

    His main research interests are: biometrics, signal and image processing,

    pattern analysis and recognition, theory and industrial applications of neural networks, machine

    learning, intelligent measurement systems, industrial applications, fault tolerance, digital

    processing architectures, embedded systems, cryptographic architectures, arithmetic

    architectures.

    He received the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Technical Award (2002). He

    is Honorary Professor at Obuda University, Budapest, Hungary, Guangdong University of

    Petrochemical Technology, China, Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan, and the Amity

    University, India.

    ❖ Speaker : Mamadou Baïlo CAMARA

    Mamadou Bailo Camara (Member, IEEE) received the engineering

    degree from the Polytechnic Institute of Conakry, Conakry, Guinea, in

    2003, the master’s and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Franche-

    Comté, Besançon, France, in 2004 and 2007, respectively, and the Ph.D.

    Supervisor Habilitation from the University of Le Havre, Le Havre, France,

    2014.

    He is a Full Professor of Electrical Engineering with GREAH Laboratory, University of Le

    Havre Normandie. His current research interests include power electronics involving static

    converter topologies, supercapacitors, batteries, and electrical energy management of

    multisource systems for transport applications and renewable energy systems.

    ❖ Speaker : Josep M. GUERRERO

    Josep M. GUERRERO received the B.S. degree in telecommunications

    engineering, the M.S. degree in electronics engineering, and the

    Ph.D. degree in power electronics from the Technical University of

    Catalonia, Barcelona, in 1997, 2000 and 2003, respectively. Since

    2011, he has been a Full Professor with the Department of Energy

    Technology, Aalborg University, Denmark, where he is responsible

    for the Microgrid Research Program. From 2012 he is a guest Professor

    at the Chinese Academy of Science and the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and

    Astronautics; and from 2014 he is chair Professor in Shandong University.

    His research interests is oriented to different microgrid aspects, including power electronics,

    distributed energy-storage systems, hierarchical and cooperative control, energy management

    systems, and optimization of microgrids and islanded minigrids. Prof. Guerrero is an Associate

    Editor for several IEEE TRANSACTIONS journals.

    ❖ Speaker : Pierluigi SIANO ❖

    Pierluigi SIANO (M’09–SM'14) received the M.Sc. degree in electronic

    engineering and the Ph.D. degree in information and electrical engineering

    from the University of Salerno, Salerno, Italy, in 2001 and 2006,

    respectively. He is a Professor and Scientific Director of the Smart Grids

    and Smart Cities Laboratory with the Department of Management &

    Innovation Systems, University of Salerno.

    His research activities are centered on demand response, on energy management, on the

    integration of distributed energy resources in smart grids, on electricity markets and on planning

    and management of power systems.

    In these research fields he has co-authored more than 500 articles including more than 300

    international journal papers that received in Scopus more than 10100 citations with an H-index

    equal to 49. In 2019 and 2020 he received the award as highly cited Researcher by ISI Web of

    Science Group. He has been the Chair of the IES TC on Smart Grids. He is Editor for the Power

    & Energy Society Section of IEEE Access, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL

    INFORMATICS, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS, and Open

    Journal of the IEEE IES, IET Smart Grid and IET Renewable Power Generation.

    ❖ Speaker : Anand NAYYAR

    Anand NAYYAR (Academician, Researcher, Author, Writer, Inventor,

    Innovator, Scientist, Consultant and Orator) received MCA from

    Punjabi University, Patiala in 2008 with Gold Medal and Distinction.

    He received his M.Phil in Computer Science in 2009 in 1st Division

    from V.M.U, Tamil Nadu. He received his M.Tech in Information

    Technology in 2011 with Distinction cum University Topper. He

    received his MBA in Information Systems from Sikkim Manipal

    University with 1st Division. He has done his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Desh Bhagat

    University, Mandi Gobindgarh in Area of Wireless Sensor Networks and Swarm Intelligence.

    (Topper in Course Work). He is a certified professional in more than 75 International

    Certifications.

    He is currently working in the area of Wireless Sensor Networks, Mobile Adhoc Networks,

    Underwater Sensor Networks, Swarm Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and Distributed

    Computing, Open Source Technology, Next Generation Wireless Networks-5 G and many

    more.

    ❖ Speaker : Hajar MOUSANNIF

    Hajar MOUSANNIF is an associate professor whithin the department

    of computer science at the Faculty of Sciences Semlalia (Cadi

    Ayyad University, Morocco). She holds a PhD degree in computer

    Sciences on her work on Wireless Sensor Networks and Vehicular

    Networks. She received an engineering degree in

    Telecommunications in 2005. Her primary research interests include

    Big Data, IoT, Human Computer Interaction, and next generation

    internet technologies. In addition to her academic experience, she chaired

    the Program Committee of many international conferences. Hajar Mousannif holds a patent on

    her work on Affective Computing and was selected among 5 best female researchers in North

    Africa. She received many international awards such as L’Oréal-UNESCO Award and the

    Emerald Litterati Prize for Excellence.

    ❖ Speaker : Badre BOSSOUFI

    Badre BOSSOUFI was born in Fez city, Morocco, on May 21, 1985.

    He received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from

    University Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah, Faculty of Sciences,

    Morocco and PhD. degree from University of Pitesti, Faculty of

    Electronics and Computer, Romanie and Montefiore Institute of

    electrical engineering, Luik, Belgium, in 2013. He was an Assistant

    Professor of Electrical Engineering, at the Higher School of technology, Oujda Morocco. He is

    currently working as Professor at the faculty of Science Fez, Morocco.

    His research interests include static converters, electrical motor drives, and power electronics,

    Smart Grid, Renewable Energy and Artificial Intelligence

    ❖ Speaker : Sanjeevikumar PADMANABAN

    Sanjeevikumar PADMANABAN (Member’12–Senior Member'15, IEEE)

    received the PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of

    Bologna, Bologna, Italy, in 2012. He was an Associate Professor with

    VIT University from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, he joined the National

    Institute of Technology, India, as a Faculty Member. In 2014, he was

    invited as a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Electrical

    Engineering, Qatar University, Doha, Qatar, funded by the Qatar National

    Research Foundation (Government of Qatar). He continued his research

    activities with the Dublin Institute of Technology, Dublin, Ireland, in 2014. Further, he served

    an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering,

    University of Johannesburg, Johannesburg, South Africa, from 2016 to 2018. Since 2018, he

    has been a Faculty Member with the Department of Energy Technology, Aalborg University,

    Esbjerg, Denmark. He has authored over 300 scientific papers.

    S. Padmanaban was the recipient of the Best Paper cum Most Excellence Research Paper Award

    from IET-SEISCON'13, IET-CEAT'16, IEEE-EECSI'19, IEEE-CENCON'19 and five best

    paper awards from ETAEERE'16 sponsored Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering, Springer

    book. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, India, the Institution of Electronics and

    Telecommunication Engineers, India, and the Institution of Engineering and Technology, U.K.

    He is an Editor/Associate Editor/Editorial Board for refereed journals, in particular the IEEE

    SYSTEMS JOURNAL, IEEE Transaction on Industry Applications, IEEE ACCESS, IET

    Power Electronics, IET Electronics Letters, and Wiley-International Transactions on Electrical

    Energy Systems, Subject Editorial Board Member—Energy Sources—Energies Journal, MDPI,

    and the Subject Editor for the IET Renewable Power Generation, IET Generation, Transmission

    and Distribution, and FACTS journal (Canada).

    ❖ Speaker : Ghada AMER

    Ghada AMER is The Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research

    in the College of Engineering at Benha University, chair of Chair of

    Center of Strategic Studies for Science and Technology & the Vice

    President the Arab Science and Technology Foundation. She holds

    few more positions within her profession, like the Director of

    Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Benha University, CEO

    and the Co-founder of ASTF innovation Lab, the ex-Head of Electrical

    Engineering Department at Benha University and the CEO of the Global

    Awqaf Research Center. In 2016 she selected to be one of the Rolexes Enterprise Awards for

    Innovation Jury members. In 2019, Ghada became a Fellow of the National Defense College at

    Nasser Higher Military Academy. With a degree of excellence and honor, her thesis was on the

    Effect of Technology on Future Wars. She is, also, an active weekly articles writer (since 2015)

    on innovation and entrepreneurship and the 4th industrial innovation effect on sustainable

    development.

    Internationally, Ghada is active on scientific collaboration. She becames a member of the

    organizing committee (2011) for “Arab-American Frontiers of Science, Engineering and

    Medicine” Symposium that is organized by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of

    Science and the US National Academies. She is currently an active participate in many

    international collaborative programs.

    ❖ Speaker : Mohamed BARARA

    Mohamed BARARA received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from

    the Mohammadia School of Engineering, Rabat, Morocco. He went

    to the University of Pitesti, Romania under the PhD mobility

    program. He joined the petroleum institute as a visiting research

    assistant at the power electronics research lab in Abu dhabi, UAE.

    He worked in a postdoctoral position at the University of Lyon,

    Ampere Lab, France. He has also worked at the UFR Sciences et

    Technologies Université d'Évry-Val-d'Essonne, Paris Saclay, and with

    the Université de Caen in Normandie, France. He is currently working as asisitant professor

    and responsible of renewable energy and Smart grids at the School of Engineering,

    ESME SUDRIA, Paris.
