WELCOME

The annual conference of the Nuclear Society of Slovenia has already become a traditional meeting of professionals dealing with different aspects of nuclear energy from all around Europe. The primary objective of the meeting is fostering international cooperation between professionals from utilities, companies, regulatory bodies, research and educational institutions.

PLACE AND TIME OF THE CONFERENCE Hotel Golf, Bled, Slovenia From: Monday, Sept. 5, 2005, in the afternoon. To: Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, in the evening.

CONFERENCE SECTIONS The submitted abstracts were classified into the following sections:

• Reactor Physics • Research and Training Reactors • Nuclear Fusion • Nuclear Physics • Radiation Monitoring • Fluid Dynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer • Thermal Hydraulics • Safety Analyses • Severe Accidents • Nuclear Materials • Probabilistic Safety Assessment • NPP Operation and Monitoring • Nuclear Waste • Public Safety and Environmental Issues • Nuclear Knowledge, Education and Training • Nuclear Energy and Society • Advances in Nuclear Technology and Other Topics

LANGUAGE The language of the conference will be English. No translation will be provided.

CONTEST OF YOUNG AUTHORS Awards will be presented to two best papers prepared by first authors aged no more than 32 years. Sixteen (16) young authors from six (6) countries have registered for the contest. They will present their papers orally in the Special Young Authors Session or during the regular conference sessions. The Special Young Authors Session is scheduled for Wednesday (Sept. 7) at 9:30. The Award Committee nominated by the Programme Committee will review both the papers and the presentations to designate the winners. The awards will be presented during the Young Authors Award Ceremony at the conference dinner on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
