italian yachting has seen some difficult years, but the high-end and top-end
models are still flying high on an unstoppable course in terms of dimensions,
technology, luxury and functions, which are finally aimed at offering genuine
satisfaction rather than being purely for show, while not forgetting, however,
that design, as well as refined quality, is the primary factor of the sex appeal
of boats built in italian shipyards.
a brilliant example of this is the smallest yacht of this review, the “second-
born” of a new generation of Pershing yachts, which came out last year with
a 62-feet boat and continues with a “70 “, a classic open motor yacht that
stands out for the “champagner pearl” tone of its hull, superstructure and

on the bridge and on request in any other area of the yacht instead of the
traditional electrical panels. “Pershing 70“ is also impressive for its perfor-
mance: twin mtu engines with 1623 mhp combined with a surface drive
system take the boat to a top speed of 46 knots and an amazing cruising
speed of 40 knots - more than enough to cover the distance from a port in
liguria to porto cervo in about four hours.
also in the leisure boat category is the brand-new Ferretti “Custom Line
Navetta 28” semi-displacement yacht, which has a hull length within the limits
of its class but behaves like a boat of a higher category, with the right attri-
butes. among the many aesthetic features of interest are its sinuous lines,
which are unmistakeable - like the spacious sundeck - and, particularly, its
sliding circular glazed system in the panoramic dining area on the upper deck:
a detail that allows flexible use of the area and gives a feeling similar to that
