INTRODUCTION

This training is aimed at providing fundamental knowledge and skills to the in-house

participants in the domain of investigation in the workplace. In-house investigation

techniques considerably vary from the way police investigations are carried out. In a

corporate environment, an internal investigator’s job is much more difficult than a police

investigator because of the lack of legal powers endowed upon. Thus the emphasis in

this training will be on the perspectives of how to develop competent skills in carrying out

workplace investigations in the absence of wide legal powers. The takeaway in this one-

day training will be some significant skills that will help the participants to a large extent in

carrying out a successful workplace investigation.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This session is suitable for security practitioners, security supervisors, officers

(inclusive Human Resource Staff) of those whose job functions are inter-dependent to

security functions and those supervisors from other departments who in the course of

their duty, inevitably have to conduct investigations at one time or other.

TRAINING METHODOLOGY

The training will involve lectures, interactive presentation, experiential learning,

examining of case studies, role-plays, presentation and application. The course will be

conducted in English or Bahasa Malaysia or both.
