What is it?
• Technology that dynamically uses thermal and power headroom to boost additional processor frequencies
• Available with Intel® Core™ i7 and i5 processors
Benefits for small businesses
• Intelligently accelerates performance to match your workload, so you can enjoy the maximum possible speed
• Optimizes processor performance intelligently and automatically, without user intervention
When thermal headroom allows, Intel® Turbo
Boost Technology automatically accelerates
performance to applications that need it most.
Maximize speed for demanding applications
Without Intel® Turbo-Boost Technology (previous generations)

Intel unveils its fourth generation Vpro
By Ian Williams, The Inquirer 2-4-10
Intel has ramped up its business push
Intel Brings vPro To Core Processors
By Antone Gonsalves, InformationWeek 2-4-10
The 4.0 version of vPro adds greater security and
management features to Intel's Core i5 and Core i7
If your customers have been waiting for
PCs based on the 2010 Intel Core vPro
processor family to release their pent up
demand and upgrade to MS Windows 7,
their wait is over. Bring on the refresh
cycle. Channel Insider and CRN
2010 Core vPro PCs arrive from major System vendors;
Stephen Withers, iTWire, 2-4-10 Intel is pitching its latest
processor family at the mainstream business market.
“Bottom Line: users will like the crisp response
of Core i5 & Core i7 computers, the financial
types will like the attractive improved
acquisition- and support-cost story, IT will get
more support done with less walking/talking, &
the CEO will sleep better with the knowledge of
the improved security of enterprise data.”
- Peter Kastner (analyst)
Intel released computer chips aimed at businesses, as it seeks
to maintain dominance over AMD and move in front of an
expected recovery in corporate IT spending this year. Reuters
PC Magazine, 2-4-10 vPro platform technology promises to bring better, HW-based
manageability features to business PCs. Integrated KVM could save customers
hundreds of dollars. KVM can tolerate obstacles e.g. network problems, multiple
reboots, or the disintegration of the network stack. VPro also includes a "call for help"
and improved remote encryption management, which can allow authorized IT
personnel access to encrypted drives.
