Introduction Since OEM GC 11.1.0 we are able to configure the integration between the My Oracle Support Website

and the OMS.

Based on this integration we will be given Patch Recommendations. Patch Recommendations are based

upon the knowledge of all Oracle Homes that are managed by the OMS.

OCM Collector The awareness of our Oracle Homes in the OMS by My Oracle Support is based on the Configuration

My Oracle Support Preferred Credentials Before we can integrate with My Oracle Support, we first need to enter our MOS Preferred Credentials.

Navigate to Preferences Preferred Credentials

Select the Set Credentials link at the left bottom of the page.

Enter your MOS Username and Password and press [Apply]

After you have pressed the [Apply] Button, your credentials will be validated. If the credentials appear to

be valid, you will automatically be notified of the scheduling of two Jobs:

Refresh From My Oracle Support

Will check the updates.oracle.com Website and if any applicable Patches are available will

download the Patches to the Patch Cache, from where you start the deployment of the Patch.

OPatch Update

Will check for any new version of OPath and if available download to the Software Library.

After the Refresh From My Oracle Support Job has finished and any Security Patch Recommendation

were found, these will be reported on you EM Console Home Page.

Security Recommendations When selecting the Security Recommendations

In this page only the recommended security Patches are displayed. As you can see the are related to a

specific database in your Environment.

When we select the first Patch in this example, the Patch details are displayed and we see that this Patch

is the July 2010 CPU for Oracle Database 11.2.0.1

Read Me

Open a new Window and display the Patch README file

Download

Download the Patch to the OMS Patch Cache from where you can select Patches to deploy them

to any of your Targets

Add To Plan

Add this Patch to a Patch Plan. By adding Patches to a Patch Plan, you can actually plan the

installation of multiple patches in one Run.

When you have created a Patch Plan, consisting out of multiple Patches you are able to validate

the Plan. Validation will check for any conflicting Patches and allow you to modify your Plan that

it will not run into any conflict.

If for any reason you would need more assistance with the installation of Patches, you can press the
