The paper describes the installation and integration of BI Publisher 11.1.1.6.0 with Enterprise Manager 12.1.0.2 and it is really as easy as 1,2,3… After downloading the proper files from OTN and making a backup of your OMS environment, you can start with the installation of BI Publisher and integration with EM.  Press  [Next  >]      

   Select  “Skip  Software  Updates”      Press  [Next  >]    

   

Make  sure  you  have  selected  “Software  Only  Install”      Press  [Next  >]    

   After  all  Prerequisite  Checks  have  been  performed  successfully,  press  [Next  >]    

   Accept  the  Oracle  Home  Directory  “Oracle_BI1”  and  make  sure  the  proper  Middleware  Home  has  been  selected  (“/u01/app/oracle/product/Middleware”  in  this  example).    Press  [Next  >]        

   If  you  like  to  be  informed  on  updates  by  MOS,  enter  your  Email  and  password  for  My  Oracle  Support.  I  didn’t  do  so  in  this  example.    Press  [Next  >]    

 

 Press  [Install]    

   Press  [Next  >]    

   

Press  [Finish]    When  starting  the  integration  of  bi  Publisher  with  Oracle  Enterprise  Manager  we  will  change  the  domain  configuration.  Therefor  we  will  first  make  a  backup  of  the  current  domain  configuration:    [oracle@em12c domains]$ pwd /u01/app/oracle/product/Middleware/gc_inst/user_projects/domains [oracle@em12c domains]$ zip -r GCDomain.zip GCDomain  Next  you  should  run:  <OMS Home>/bin/configureBIP  The  script  will  ask  you  for  a  SYSDBA  user  and  password  and  for  the  passwords  for  the  Admin  Server  User  and  Node  Manager.

Verify  the  integration  of  BI  Publisher  with  Enterprise  Manager      

 Connect  to  the  EM  Console  and  navigate  Enterprise    Reports    BI  Publisher  Enterprise  Reports  

 Let’s  try  report  “Targets  of  Specified  Type”    First  you  need  to  enter  the  BI  Publisher  Credentials  (use  the  same  credentials  you  used  for  login  in  to  the  EM  Console)        

   

   As  you  can  see  the  Reports  gets  opened  in  BI  Publisher.  

 Now  you  can  also  benefit  from  additional  features  like:      • Export  • Send  • Schedule  • Etc.
