Building Schools for the Future (BSF) is the biggest ever national school buildings investment programme. The aim is to rebuild or renew nearly every secondary school in England, including the integration of EPoS equipment, electronic registration and catering facilities. This ambitious Government driven reform programme is set to raise educational standards with school buildings playing a crucial part.

DRS IntelliReg® offers complex lesson attendance reporting and real-time query abilities, helping to improve standards within the education system. DRS biometric scanners are specially designed readers which identify the unique points of each fingertip and use an algorithm to convert it into a mathematical template, thus omitting the need for an actual fingerprint image to be stored.
As an electronic registration solution designed to record the presence, absence and lateness of students in real-time, students simply place their fingertip on the reader (or pod), or enter a PIN or pass their card in front of the reader and their attendance is registered automatically. Powerful reporting features allow a learning establishment to take control over the monitoring of attendance of individual or groups of students.
Integration of DRS IntelliReg® with core Information Management Systems such as SIMS, CMIS and EBS for AM PM and lesson registration saves the time-consuming task of populating the school or college MIS with attendance data and allows real-time update of data for accurate attendance monitoring.
With a range of solutions to suit any teaching environment, including desk-top, portable and wall-mounted registration offerings, IntelliReg® is capable of simultaneously capturing up to three fingertips and/or one PIN. Registration units are usually installed inside classrooms for lesson-by-lesson student registration.

IntelliReg® Access Control electronically records the transactions of users permitted to use the system. Permitted users use their card, fingertip or even a PIN to register their transaction. Each transaction contains the date, time, reader and card ID to determine the location and ID number. Network based protocol with local zone controllers enables fast and reliable access for users.
DRS IntelliReg® - Access Control
IntelliReg® Access Control can also produce a number of management reports which are based upon individual movements, door access history and event history. Using the auto-mode, time zone and security group functionality the access organisation can be forged to reflect the user access policy based upon door, time, date and permission providing a virtually unlimited number of entry combinations.
DRS can provide a fully managed Access Control system including software and hardware. Organisations can choose between a wide variety of card, biometric and PIN readers. IntelliReg® Access Control is adaptable and can grow to meet any changing requirements. DRS can offer a variety of solutions: from a one-door stand alone system to a comprehensive solution with hundreds of doors and thousands of employees combined with CCTV, links to fire reporting, and turnstiles.

Impact is the premier cashless system supplied by Cunninghams & CRB Solutions across the UK.
Designed and developed specifically for the Education sector providing state of the art functionality and complete flexibility to our clients.
Impact is now installed in around 2000 sites across the UK representing approximately 2 million users.
The relationship between Cunninghams and CRB was formed many years ago and the Impact system quickly established itself as the market leader.
Both Cunninghams and CRB offer an end to end solution in terms of development, installation and support. Their joint approach offers significant benefits to their customers, with offices in Edinburgh, Inverness, Glasgow, Northern Ireland, Birmingham, Bristol and London they have considerable resource to draw on.
Impact has tailored solutions for the Primary, Secondary and Further Education markets.
Impact offers solutions to suit single sites through to multi site wide area systems offering the latest technology to include PIN, proximity card and the latest high performance biometric recognition.

Impact Cashless Catering Solution
CRB SolutionsIn 1993 CRB Solutions started to support the schools sector when it was invited to provide a solution to the stigma sometimes associated with the free school meal coupons in cash based school restaurants. This solution was an online cashless catering system which removed cash transactions from the point of sale (PoS) and enabled free school meal allowances to be allocated automatically and in privacy.
Today, there are over 1500 schools and over a million users across the UK using CRBS’ cashless catering technologies.
CRB designs, builds, installs and supports the Impact system and with its 30 year strong partnership with Birmingham based Cunninghams, who service the UK from the northern counties down the country, together they are able to service the entire length and breadth of the United Kingdom.
Cunninghams Providing more methods of Cashless Electronic Point of Sale (EPoS) solutions than any other EPoS company, Cunninghams EPoS solutions work closely with education authorities providing them with successful systems capable of multiple solutions to the cashless catering environment.

BioStore – Biometric SystemsModern schools provide an increasingly complex array of services for their students and staff. They rely on technology to manage and run applications ranging from cashless catering and library management to door access control, print queue management and electronic registration.
The BioStore Identification Management Solution integrates these applications and provides a simple way of managing users across all the systems run within a school. A single enrolment is required for each person, irrespective of the number of applications the person will be using. BioStore can accommodate any combination of biometrics, smartcards, PIN codes and passwords, and there is only ever one central database of identification data to maintain.

Softlink has been dedicated to the development and support of library and information management solutions, across the world, for the past 25 years. With offices in the UK, Australia, USA and New Zealand and over 10,000 customers in more than 108 countries, Softlink provides a range of software products, technical support and professional services.
Oliver. A complete, web-based information management solution for schools, delivering a multimedia resource catalogue, library circulation desk and reporting facilities. It provides easy access to learning resources including books, electronic files, databases and web resources for all users. Throughout the day, Oliver displays real-time updates to the status of the library’s processes, borrower and resource records.
Built to facilitate integration with all information sources and services commonly used across schools, Oliver makes the school library central to a dynamic learning environment. A suite of Web Services allows seamless links to MIS, VLE and identity management systems, such as BioStore.
Each student and teacher has their own personal account space in Oliver, containing live updates to their information. This is viewable from the Oliver OPAC or from the VLE, with access via the school Intranet or the Internet.
Liberty. A web-based knowledge management solution, designed for Corporate, Special and Further Education libraries. It is both flexible and cost effective and has been designed to adapt to changing needs of small and large clients. Liberty is scalable, with the ability to link sites, offices and campuses worldwide.
Built on industry standard technology, favoured by IT professionals, Liberty can be installed locally or remotely hosted as a full ASP solution. Liberty offers 24/7 access from anywhere to everything. There is enhanced security profiling, full-text indexing of electronic files, SSO and the ability to alter the layout of any page.
Easy to use, with clear and concise interfaces for both librarians and OPAC users, operations are intuitive and do not require lengthy training. Self service features such as self-issue and returns, using SIP2 protocol, personal portal with self renewal, reservations, bookings, saved searches, current awareness, messages, bibliographies etc. also helps cut down on library staff workload.
